I'm back, and catching up quickly before the next big move - thank you for the new thread, Boily, I see there are seven posts there already😑
I like the sound of that teacher, FF, every school should have one😄
Errol In 3d graphics, the clipping planes (defining a ‘slice’ parallel to the screen) used to be referred to as hither and yon, though I fear that nowadays they’re liable to be more prosaically called near and far.
'Hither and yon' being used in 3D graphics is a lovely 'huddling together of fierce extremities', isn't it?
'Near and far' would be boring in comparison. Unless of course you're Father Dougal, in which case it would be as intellectually challenging as 3D graphics😄
Printing had/has 'widows and orphans' for isolated words at the top/bottom of pages.
'Yon' is used in parts of Ireland to mean 'that' - 'yon lake is fierce deep'.
Or it can be 'Thon' - 'thon house is quare big' - I think the further north you go the more likely you are to hear 'thon' - Sionnach can confirm or deny
Let's see what else - assembling flat-pack furniture - I've found my tribe! I love doing it too!
IKEA shops are too huge for me these days, but I love their dedication to making really good design accessible for not a lot of money. I used to love their paper catalogues for that reasons, browsing online just isn't the same.
Pasta - I hope you are overcoming the cooking challenges, I'm sure you'll serve something delicious, regardless🍽
See yis/youse/y'all in the new Bluey💙
