Transwomen - pseudumenopausal symptoms due to hrt - asked to approve work policy

GrimDamnFanjo · 15/03/2026 17:36

I have to comment on a paper that’s come for approval. It’s a policy regarding menopause at work.
theres detail regarding the experience of black women, women with disabilities, trans men and those who identify as non binary and a line that transwomen may experience pseudomenopausal symptoms due to taking hrt.
is this true?
is this any different to anyone having side effects for drugs they take or am I missing something?

Mate, if you cannot answer questions to clarify your own accusations I suspect that this is yet another emotionally manipulative accusation.

I know other women who have been on HRT as long as I have and share the experience of aging on HRT, the various sub-optimal HRT treatments we've been prescribed at times and a renewed interest in maintaining good levels as we age towards our 60s.

Some groups of women have already been erased without a thought in the previous discussion and one group has not been addressed at all. Leave it up to a self-interested hobby-focused forum to remove all diversity from a topic.

I am not here to personally argue against the hatred and misinformation prevalent in sex realist scripture. I'm just pointing out that the OP would be better served looking elsewhere for guidance if they are genuinely interested in participating constructively in the task assigned.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/03/2026 17:26

Trans medical care involves treatments and diagnoses across sex boundaries

It still doesn't mean that trans-identified males experience the menopause.

"Menopause" literally means the pausing and eventual cessation of menstruation.

Menopause describes the stage of a woman's life when her menstrual periods stop permanently, and she can no longer get pregnant.

Since men don't have periods and cannot get pregnant, they likewise do not experience the menopause.

A workplace policy for the menopause cannot therefore include transwomen, who are men.

Greyskybluesky · 16/03/2026 17:30

Have you ever considered some things are just not about you @onepostwonder and do not have to include you?

Women's health is one of those things. Biological women. Not male people.

Imposing oneself where neither relevant nor wanted is classic behaviour exhibited by many male people. You illustrate it every time you post.

Thanks for your constructive and rational contribution then.

I take it you are referring to more male people?

Because otherwise, those female people are excluded from a menopause policy how? Exactly how? In detail please. Not just vague references

You don’t seem to be able to support your accusations with any factual evidence.

Some groups of women have already been erased without a thought in the previous discussion and one group has not been addressed at all

Which female people have been ‘erased’ by a female only menopause policy? Which group of female people have not been addressed at all?

If you cannot clarify your comments, it really is just sparple. And it is coming across as gaslighting.

Menopause does not include any male person

Greyskybluesky · 16/03/2026 17:42

@onepostwonder You do not have pseudomenopausal symptoms. You don't have female biology. The end.

hatred and misinformation”

This is just another empty accusation aimed at shaming female people for pointing out that menopause policies do not and should not include any male people.

That you cannot then accept that there may need to be a specific policy for the needs of all male people on elective hormone supplement is not the responsibility of female people to have to counter by making a policy for menopause inclusive of the male people it doesn’t cover.

So, you cannot clarify at all, you can provide no evidence to support your claims but we are the problem?

Got it.

Thanks for the live demonstration of why male people who do not experience menopause should not be included in the discussion about policies for menopause.

RedToothBrush · 16/03/2026 17:56

Males telling females they are hating and pushing misinformation when the male is saying they go through menopause - the cissation of having periods - is really stretching it.

No since males can't have periods, they also can't cease having periods. If males only have levels of female hormones because they have fake ones they take, that's not the same as the natural decline of females reduction in female hormones.

I think we can see who is pushing the hatred and misinformation.

OP trans women AND trans men should not be included in menopause guidance. They should have their own work place trans inclusion guidance and have done with it so they get the appropriate support for taking cross sex hormones whilst working. They have unique needs that need identifying and dealing with.

Lumping both groups together ends up with exclusion for some females and a whole bunch of misinformation for both women and trans people. For the sake of properly informing it needs to be kept separate.
