I'm sorry for your loss @MyrtleLion - I think several of us on this thread are on the older side, and it's one of the unfortunate aspects of aging. We have lost two friends since Christmas - one I found out about yesterday. We can't go to UK funerals - too expensive to travel for a short visit - but I have sent a donation to the hospice he died in.

In other news I have had a PM from somebody called User980753
just saying "Hello", who seems to have no posts on Mumsnet. I'm assuming this is some kind of scam attempt unless somebody here has got a name change or knows the person.
