I took it to be a threat of violence.

Women start fights. Not as often as men, but they do. It's not inherently male to start a fight.

For someone to show you he is a man, in this context, I interpret that as exposure of his penis, if not the use of it. The penis is inherently and unmistakeably male.

That doesn't make you wrong, because sexual violence is a subset of violence.

Regardless of whether it was a threat of violence or a threat to show the women his cock, it was a threat - the default position of men is to threaten women who challenge them. Twas always thus.

I think it is sad as well that the loud and entitled monority like that makes it harder for the transgender people who just want to quietly get on with their lives.

The facial expressions of the two men are interesting. Amongst other things they look a bit perplexed. They’ve probably used ladies loos before and not been challenged - so they assumed women were ok with this but more likely that they believed they passed. The black chap in particular when at the mirror - I read his expression as “what is happening? This doesn’t happen…How did they know?” Lol.
