I have just received a new email from Girlguiding. They are planning on setting up a task force - 'Today, we're launching a taskforce to explore new opportunities for trans girls, trans young women and trans women. You can help us by sharing your ideas and/or expressing an interest in contributing to our taskforce. '
I'm thinking that it's really important that sex realists are included on this task force as I think that there will be pressure from the Trans handmaidens to change Girlguiding to a mixed sex organisation. Is there anyone else who has received this email and would be keen to collaborate?

The thing about making the date September is that young people and volunteers will still be in Guiding over the summer - which is obviously peak time for camping, outdoor activities and overnight excursions. (This is actually explicitly stated as one of the reasons for the date.) In the meantime transgirls are to be included as normal and they haven't issued any further guidance about how to manage safeguarding etc. I find that a surprising approach from a risk management pov.
What I think that shows is that the leadership really can't see that there is a problem - they really are just reluctantly complying with the law.

Do GG have annual memberships? I'm wondering if part of this is reluctance to do anything that would involve giving refunds. Which they'd have to do if they limited access to the year's activities after families had paid up annual subs. Wait till September and you can just fill up from waiting list, no awkward financial gaps.

That sulley bloke, if I recall correctly, was posting pictures of himself in the bath asking people whether they wanted to see his boobs, 'or more'. He also had photos of guides or brownies, on one of his profiles.

What I find it difficult to understand is how (some) parents of trans identified can ally themselves with this ideology when it's supported by such men.

If a parent is not suspicious of a man who has a profile pic of him in a bubble bath overlayed over a line up of very small girls in ballet outfits for a fb header, then they are blind to the obvious inappropriateness when the page also included the BDSM images too.

Thing is, I remember parents defending him on other threads. Actual guide parents defending Sully.

It's a subscription from the census date which is Thinking Day (Feb). Most units pay themselves, rather than asking parents to pay directly.

I think I remember reading something about Sully (?, the bloke with the fetish wear and the riding crop) moving to Scouts.

Afaik Scouts is problematic in the same way that Guides currently is but, perhaps because it's already mixed sex, it's under the radar. I suspect most similar organisations are affected in the same way.

I am currently having a very sad fall out with what was my best friend for the last 45 years who is a scout leader and believes it’s fine for a parent to trans a 2-3 year old.

This is the one. There is a grainy image of it in the thread gallery if you click through that. I thought it was ballet dresses but it looks like just in dresses. The point is that all the girls would have been identifiable.

I reckon the vast majority of Leaders will be taking a seriously relieved breath at this deadline. It would be better sooner but it is what it is. Not all units camp over the summer, many do not as it's resource intensive, Leaders need to have done additional training and assessment, most Guide groups don't own property or meet over the school holidays. Girlguiding closed its own residential centres not long ago.
From September Leaders will be able to say no to any applications from male born children or ask them to leave. Similarly any adult transwomen in Guiding will be moved to other roles. I doubt they will continue unnoticed as I would imagine it's unlikely for that not to be known by their units or for it to be fairly obvious.

That GATE website is using the Girlguiding branding system without the trefoil. Font and colours are GG ones so making it look official. Wonder if the branding team would be interested in a group actively fighting against Girlguiding but using their branding

Looking at the letter template to the MPs on the GATE website, it’s talking about the Equalities act and protected characteristics- it’s like a game of top trumps and trans always scores a ten and overrides everything else. They’re not seeing the irony of an organisation that started off sex based and has that as a protected characteristic at all

It would seem that the obvious solution, if it is so much of an issue, is to schism off and just be “Guiding UK” or “ ‘Girl’ Guiding”. Knowledge, vague infrastructure. I suppose the question is when push came to shove, would there be the demand…

One would hope that they don’t do this.

We all make a promise which includes keeping a law about being honest, reliable and trustworthy.

Would be interesting though. If a transidentified boy and his parents lied and he joined Guides in 'stealth ' mode could a criminal case be brought against him by girls unwittingly sharing a tent once GG is officially back to being single sex. And would their parents be an accessory?

What criminal offence would you see that falling within?
