I have just received a new email from Girlguiding. They are planning on setting up a task force - 'Today, we're launching a taskforce to explore new opportunities for trans girls, trans young women and trans women. You can help us by sharing your ideas and/or expressing an interest in contributing to our taskforce. '
I'm thinking that it's really important that sex realists are included on this task force as I think that there will be pressure from the Trans handmaidens to change Girlguiding to a mixed sex organisation. Is there anyone else who has received this email and would be keen to collaborate?

It’s good news boys are no longer allowed to be part of Girl Guides. My daughters can finally go on camps next year!! But why so long? They took far too long to announce what was happening with current boys and men, and now they’re got a few months to get all their thrills in? I’m very concerned about them using this time to abuse whilst they can. Talking of Guides age +. In December I would’ve accepted leaving by Feb half term, but this is unreasonable. At this point, they should leave immediately.

I’m not being disingenuous- but does anyone know if there is any data on how many trans girls the Guides actually have? I haven’t been able to work out if it’s predominantly a hypothetical and the outrage is virtue signalling, plus a handful of extremely vocal parents , or if it is widespread?
I know of some (robustly ) male adult helpers - no gender ambiguity - and imagine there must be stats on that for the census, but again, any ideas on trans woman leaders?

But according to another thread GG HQ have admitted they don’t know how many males will be affected as they don’t collect data on gender identity. Traditionally of course they would never have had to worry about collecting data on sex.

I was at a county wide event, leaders only, trying to be vague as paranoid of being outing. There was 100% a man there ‘presenting’ as a woman. It very much felt like an elephant in the room. I heard him twice bring up how he brings period pads to all meetings, events etc for his Guides, bringing it up in general chat about how everyone does their meeting etc. Made me feel sick and I could tell others were uncomfortable too.

Which is why I suspect it is hardly any. And this massive fricking hoo-ha is to trying to persuade people it's really a big deal, when it's nothing of the sort.

From the response of GG to those questioning the chap with the social media full of him in a basque, with the BDSM crop and the guns, who was one of their leaders? I would think speaking out would be something requiring a lot of courage and preparation to stand the flak.

FFS - not to mention how uncomfortable the girls are. I have two Guides with mild SEN who are so painfully shy, they would never be able to ask this person for sanitary products, and if they were pushed on them, they would be mortified. In our meetings and residential events, they are just able to help themselves, but of course that doesn't satisfy a male fetish for female bodily functions.

I think this is the end of my time in Girlguiding (close to 20 years as a leader)

It is the right decision to exclude trans members but I simply cannot deal with the endless whining and simpering of the handmaidens, there is an element of Girlguiding which I suspect is very small, but so agressive and captured that no one dares oppose them, or even speak cautiously from another point of view due to a fear of being labelled a bigot. It is bullying and I think I am done.

There are other reasons I am going but the handling of the trans issue has been catastrophically bad (and after the chaos in 2023 when they sold the TACs and threw out the overseas members, you would have thought they would have better planning for contraversial decisions).

It is, but on Reddit, not just trans Reddit but all the twatty mansplainy news and politics subreddits, that’s what they are also saying is terrible because these “little trans girls” are a minuscule proportion of the members and should be left alone.

Male volunteers have been part of guiding for 110 years. The husbands that help to pitch tents at camp, the boyfriends who get roped in to drive mini busses.

Their role is a unit support one only and is very much needed in a lot of units.

No but there are some jobs (eg helping with period issues) for which they are inherently not suited and more geneealised jobs in which they are. Men and women can drive minibuses but most organisations are short of volunteers. Excluding men from volunteering in appropriate ways isn't necessary or practical. In my experience the "roping in" of partners to provide an extra pair of hands happens to both sexes in most situations where volunteers are needed.

Voluntary organisations need the non-flakey and competent, ideally with no agenda beyond “let’s get this evening/event run smoothly , with appropriate ratios, minimal disaster, and YP all having fun”

Yes. VOLUNTEERS are very much needed of both sexes. I agree.

My own husband has been a volunteer and yes, drove vans and pitched tents.

He, however, was not in a permanent leadership role and was always directly overseen by a leader.

This isn't about men who volunteer as men in support roles, this is about men who identify as women being permitted into roles only for women, and then ignoring the realities in order to treat them as if they were actually women, with the inevitable safeguarding issues of toilets, overnight sleep arrangements etc etc. As example above of a man with a trans identity in a women's post who has an interest in providing sanitary equipment to young girls. And the one who was an area lead who liked to be photographed posing in a basque or with guns.

I suspect a big part of the delay until after Summer is that payments will have already been made for some camping trips, especially international ones. If GG throw the kids out with no notice, then they will have to give refunds for trips already planned and that might make the trips financially unviable for everyone as these things are often on an extremely tight budget.

At what age are girls deserving of their own shit? To put themselves first and not always be secondary to another group?

And the boys involved? It’s not fair on them to lie and tell them that they are and will always be accepted as girls and women? Using the example of boys in Rainbows and Brownies is disingenuous because what if those boys wanted to continue to be Guides? A 5 year old versus a 15 year old? Much better to stop lying to the 5 year old.
