Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 2

Zack Polanski is making things bigger again.

We need a new thread to discuss all his antics and the ongoing situation in the Green party which is getting more ever more bizarre. While it is getting ever strident in denying biology it also has Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it.

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration,(https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing.

In Bristol the Women of Wessex are causing panic amongst the ruling Green council just by turning up and asking questions. This may result in another court case.
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued

With local elections in May and elections in Wales incoming lots more to discuss and call out.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of Hypno Boobs:
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5328986-greens-internal-drama-warms-up

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology enough at the time.

I wish Gareth Roberts would get off the fence and tell us what he really thinks

The Green party is barking mad | The Spectator

Very funny and sadly accurate.

From the PoliticsHome interview:

'He rules out any kind of partnership with Starmer: “I think that relationship is broken. There are plenty of Labour MPs that I would very happily work with, such as Nadia Whittome, Clive Lewis, but I think the chances of them leading the Labour Party, with no disrespect to them, are about as likely as me leading the Labour Party.”
A progressive alliance is similarly dismissed, now that the Greens are “confident in our own ability to win” – even if the Tories and Reform unite the right.'

There was a telegraph story on Labour MPs in talks to defect to the greens

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2026/03/09/labour-mps-talks-over-defecting-green-party/

He mentioned Whittome before, as a leader to work with. Quite the chutzpah to effectively try and project on to Labour who they should have as leader, particularly as she's never had a cabinet position and seems to be very sensitive to being labelled as selling out her core beliefs if she has to do anything that isn't wholly 100% #BeKind hearts and flowers

I think by the next election, both Reform and the Greens would have taken the crackpots out of Labour and the Conservatives respectively and maybe we can have a coherent centre Left/Right parties again. I think Labour would be infinitely more suitable for government without Whittome, Lewis and the rest of the Hard Left. At the moment, with then, it makes them ungovernable as a party and probably incapable of forming an effective government, with half their backbench MP's trying to overthrow then.

Agree, I am delighted by the defections of all the so called Conservatives so far.

Noting that Zack is due to appear at 'Trans Mission' tonight at Wembley potting shed.

Concert staged by Mighty Hoopla, whose parent company KKR are all about landlords, gas pipelines, and multi billion pound investments.

It might like to fund wee charidee gigs for marginalised people, but still, KKR are a surprising company for Zack to be fronting.

NasturtiumsAreUnderrated · 11/03/2026 08:13

@Lalgarh To be fair, that Bill is a mess and doesn't take us closer to genuine decentralisation of power and resources. Lab's centralising instincts* haven't changed and their plans are a combination of divide and rule and even stricter centrally imposed conditionality, with a local figurehead or authority as fig leaf and potential scapegoat. Decentralisation is a key issue for me, so I actually read quite a lot of the Brown Report and the relevant bits in the manifesto, because the headline presentation sounded promising. The details told a different story and in govt Rayner was clearly interested only in using so-called decentralisation measures to advance her build baby build agenda.

*Look at how UK Lab exerts control over the Scottish and Welsh branches.

ZP had said the //Sun\ had lied about his hypnosis breast claims when they reported it.

Apparently not

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn9enygvezeo

Zack Polanski's claim to have immediately apologised for saying that hypnosis could increase a woman's breast size has been thrown into doubt by a newly unearthed interview.
Before entering politics the Green Party leader worked as a hypnotherapist and offered a session in 2013 to enlarge a newspaper reporter's bust.
Polanski has since said he was misrepresented and never believed it was possible, claiming he spoke to the BBC the day after the article to apologise.
BBC News cannot find evidence of such an interview, but six days later he spoke to Radio Humberside to stand by the theory saying "the evidence is growing".

The BBC has actually done some investigating for once, and dug around in its archives to see if there's any evidence of Zack going on the BBC the day after the Sun hypnoboobs story to apologise, as he's repeatedly claimed.

They didn't find any evidence of that, but they did find him going on Radio Humberside six days later to say there was growing evidence that his technique worked.

1984Now · 11/03/2026 20:02

The guy so icks me out. I wish this could be the beginning of undermining his popularity, but alas I don't think it will. We're in a moment in time where being outrageous and impractical in politics gets you shed loads of votes.

NasturtiumsAreUnderrated · 11/03/2026 20:24

It's pretty obvious if you check the original article that Polanski cooperated with the story. There's a photo of him with the Sun-sponsored client, a nice little plug for his business at the bottom of the article, plus some blurb about the process and some home tips (probably supplied by him, although I'm sure an enterprising hack could have produced some equally fluent pseudoscience babble; if it was lifted from a leaflet he really was majoring in fleecing women). It definitely wasn't a setup or a gotcha. It's much closer to a puff piece - just playful enough not to make the lass seem too gullible.

SternJoyousBeev2 · 11/03/2026 20:26

He gives me the ick too. He looks like he could do with a good wash in the same way that Farage does too.

NasturtiumsAreUnderrated · 11/03/2026 20:33

@1984Now I think it's icky that as a man, you're involving yourself in this particular discussion on this board.

Why was Hypnoboobs lying about his incredible powers?

How exactly did his rise to political power begin? Is he hypnotising hundreds of thousands of people into supporting his daft ideas? Now we know he can make boobs grow we need to consider this.

Sounds like a cover up of a growing problem. Keep watching this thread for more in depth analysis.

Seriously though is this going to see his end or will he, like his favourite politicians to copy Farage and Trump, get away with it through the magic of being a smarmy guy.

One thing is certain it is going to be even more ridiculous..

The audio clip is fascinating. He talks about the dangerous effects of cosmetic surgery, "mentally as well", and states that the hypnotherapy package includes looking at people's confidence and self-esteem. He says "My hope would be that actually, just with one session, people wouldn't even want to enhance their breasts. They would be looking to become more comfortable from the inside out."

Well now, I wonder if Zack can think of another group of people undergoing dangerous interventions who could benefit from his skills?

Zack Polanski now on stage. Wearing white suit. He is receiving biggest cheer of night.

Remember folks only a few days ago Zack Polanski: “There’s A Lot Of Inauthenticity In Politics, But It’s Not Coming From Me”

The revived Boobgate has now reached not just BBC, The Times, Telegraph, GB News, but even the Guardian and Independent.

Guardian
Zack Polanski repeated claim hypnosis can increase breast size, BBC interview reveals
Green party leader has said he immediately apologised for comments made in 2013 Sun interview, but footage six days later shows him standing by claim
A Labour source said: “Zack Polanski’s ego might have got bigger, but nothing else has. It’s now clear that his pretence to have been misrepresented over his breast enlargement hypnosis scam was absolute nonsense – he got called out years later.”

The 'eco-populist' has previously said he was 'misrepresented' in a 2013 newspaper article, which detailed his belief he could boost cup sizes using the mind alone.
