Zack Polanski is making things bigger again.

We need a new thread to discuss all his antics and the ongoing situation in the Green party which is getting more ever more bizarre. While it is getting ever strident in denying biology it also has Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it.

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration,(https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing.

In Bristol the Women of Wessex are causing panic amongst the ruling Green council just by turning up and asking questions. This may result in another court case.

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology enough at the time.

Transwomen are women is not a principle, it is an ideological article of faith. A commitment to adhering to it is the principle.

None of this stuff is remotely founded on ecological or green principles. What on earth do the traditional, long standing party members make of all of this?

The longstanding members I know are disgusted by ZP. They see him as an opportunist rather than someone who believes in ecology and Green values.They think you can't ask people to follow climate science while you're ignoring biology. They are angry about the authoritarianism and the ongoing purge of GC members. Many have been suspended or expelled or have resigned in disgust. Others are hanging on and hoping that the Party can be reclaimed by genuine Green members.

But they also talk about long standing members in their local parties who dismiss the "trans issue" as a distraction and are just excited by the growing membership and rising support in repeated polls. Sadly, they think ZP is charismatic and what the Party needs to get more media and press attention.

Maybe they just think more Green Party councillors and MPs is a positive thing no matter how mad Polanski and his followers are.

Yes, I can see that might seem exciting.

Longterm, though, I suggest it is going to be the end of the party.

What's even the point of winning more if all Green policies have been abandoned, anyway?

Maybe they think they can achieve wins at the local level.

That the man comes across as an utter sweeping generalisation platitudes mouthing idiot (IMO) is one thing. That he’s attracting members and was voted leader is another altogether. Proof that social media has dumbed down civil discourse and reduced critical thinking skills in the population.

Edmund Griffiths is some sort of minor player in the Your Party debacle and he's not taken the EHRC / queer phobia article well as it should be a sacred right of the greens to expel transphobes

Seems to be fairly adept at actually running things. And has his own support base. So he should be a major asset to the party. As long as his base doesn't start to impinge on the adultation for Saint Zack, or they try the regional fiefdoms thing

Can't pretend I'm pleased to see yet another red joining an ostensibly green party and I don't know much about Driscoll, but the party does need people who are capable of translating ideals into policies that can be delivered under a non-green central government.

Unfortunately it's more or less inevitable that Driscoll's compromises would be anri-green/ anti-sustainability and aimed at engineering a political and economic climate favourable to socialism rather than one centred on recognising and working within ecological constraints.

Driscoll might conceivably do some good by pushing the party to talk much more about localism.

Mind you I dislike what Polanski is doing so much that I half want the party's ratings and electoral performance to tank under him - so long as his gender ideology and leftism get the blame. I truly couldn't believe he's proposing an electoral pact to save Lab's FPTP bacon. That's possibly the stupidest thing he's done.

Agree. I'm not sure how ' green' encouraging young people to live a lifetime on quite severe medication , hormone therapy andcsurgeries ( all enthusiastically provided by Big pharma) and getting people to come here to work in the middle of a jobs crisis for young people and the poor ( unless they mean legalising all the Cannabis farms and drugs import), as well as building all over the country is particularly Green. They barely mention Green policies now and seem to not give even basic local environmental issues a second thought when they are in power.

Woman's Hour this morning was running a promo for a radio documentary on how young women are increasingly voting for green and left wing parties in far more strident numbers than young males are turning to the right wing.

Key demographics are young university educated women

Young university educated women really are the key left wing constituency these days. Lefty dudebro culture doesn't seem to put them off very much.

I wonder if there are any Ross Jeffries type pickup gurus telling young men to join the Greens and pretend to be left wing, because that's where the young women are.

Possibly the sexism of the traditional left does put off young women, hence they gravitate to the Greens. Who used to be much better until the genderism and then the leftie infiltration.
