Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 2

Zack Polanski is making things bigger again.

We need a new thread to discuss all his antics and the ongoing situation in the Green party which is getting more ever more bizarre. While it is getting ever strident in denying biology it also has Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it.

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration,(https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing.

In Bristol the Women of Wessex are causing panic amongst the ruling Green council just by turning up and asking questions. This may result in another court case.

With local elections in May and elections in Wales incoming lots more to discuss and call out.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of Hypno Boobs:

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology enough at the time.

Thanks. We might see the crossing of the online spheres for the constituency covered by greens and Your Party: the triggered Gaza Muslim vote doubling down on this finding they now have a mutual enemy with the TRAs who hate Falkner.

Windy after the case against Graham lineman was quashed has now whined that he wished he was Jewish

Why would they pull what looked like a very entertaining if absolutely terrifying policy?

I'm getting 'action for trans health' vibes

'@The Green Party in government will:

Implement a fair and humane system of managed immigration

Treat all migrants as if they are citizens

Give all residents the right to vote

Help families to be together

Dismantle the Home Office

Abolish the No Recourse to Public Funds condition

Abolish the ten year route to settlement'

Thats bold! 😂

He's on Sunday politics on sky tomorrow as well

Thanks @fromorbit .

He's on Sunday politics on sky tomorrow as well

He really needs to be interrogated as to his "perception of (un)safety" comments, a more tone deaf statement in the current atmosphere I haven't heard from a politician in a very long time.

lcakethereforeIam · 02/05/2026 18:41

He'd be better addressing his 'perception' comments to trans activists, not Jewish people.

Lalgarh · 02/05/2026 20:33

He's been in the headlines again this afternoon essentially gobbling up all the bandwidth that would ordinarily be allocated to hapless Sir Ed Davey, by hitting back at Kier Starmer's comments yesterday that ZP is unfit to lead a political party.

So in terms of the attention economy and social media, even his missteps are part of the plan in that they generate clicks.

Igneococcus · 02/05/2026 20:44

He also has an interview in the Times. I've put the link onto the new thread already since this thread won't last much longer.

If ZP really wanted to talk to people who disagree with him, he'd talk to the women of Green Women's Declaration to explain why it would have been unsafe for members if they had had a stall at the Green Party Autumn Conference.

ArabellaSaurus · 02/05/2026 21:13

He said people, cariadlet. Not women.

cariadlet · 02/05/2026 21:22

😂

Lalgarh · 02/05/2026 21:22

Or maybe go to Golders Green

ArabellaSaurus · 02/05/2026 21:58

'Last year Piers Morgan asked Polanski if a woman can have a penis. “Yes,” he said. Can a woman who disagrees with him and publicly expresses gender-critical views, I ask, be a member of the Green Party?

“Well, I fundamentally disagree with gender-critical views.” He looks annoyed with me. “I see it as my principal job as a leader of a political party to be really clear that the Green Party is a safe space for LGBT people. It is also,” he adds, “a safe space, I believe, for women, and I don’t see these things as being in conflict.”

His tone shortens. “When you look at polling, there’s a very, very small amount of people whose No 1 issue is around reducing the rights of trans people. But I’m not interested in having that conversation.” It sharpens as he says we should “not, frankly, get caught in conversations about culture wars” but “spend a lot more time focusing on what really matters”.'

Ohhhh I so remember that sudden flash of hatred and annoyance whenever anyone raised anything to do with women's rights.

ArabellaSaurus · 02/05/2026 21:58

I mean, I dont think Polanski minds women so long as they're agreeing with him.

1984Now · 02/05/2026 23:47

All that comes out from this interview is his increasingly barely restrained anger when he's continually questioned on topics he wants to gloss over. At the same time as banging on about how he has infinite patience and wants to convince by talking things thru.
Charlatan and hypocrite.

ZPs apology for the beef with the Met police has not gone down well with his online support. Mild reproach here. Still seems to have faith in him though.

Post election there will be more fallout. The more crazy Gaza types want to push that anti Israel motion again in September. It seems ZP or those close to him were involved in supporting the blocking of the motion first time round .

So there will be a showdown. We will see how it plays out.

If the motion passes it will be very significant and will not be the end of things they will spend the next few years fighting over Gaza and human biology. If they block it we can expect more ZP is a Zionist agent stuff.

Trevor Phillips vs ZP interesting watch. ZP does not look good:

God he really needs to shave. He mentions the times cartoon and how it portrayed him as a stereotype. He's also careful to phrase it as the attack by the suspect on the Muslim acquaintance first then the 2 men the terror charges are for.

He really is trying to hold onto that base but it's almost certainly doomed as they'll turn against him

SionnachRuadh · 03/05/2026 11:27

Zack's response on the marches is very reminiscent of those women who say "I don't feel uncomfortable with male people in female spaces, so we can dismiss all those women who perceive it makes them unsafe."

1984Now · 03/05/2026 11:30

Trevor really is a fantastic interviewer, he really needs to hold as many leading politicians to account.
Great catch on the point re hate crime being a real crime of hate as long as the so-called victim perceives it as such, no objective measure or proof needed.
So, Jews genuinely feeling chants at the Gaza demos of "from the River to the Sea" and "globalise the Intifada" are hate crimes towards them, isn't considered as such by Polanski, yet trans individuals feeling that misgendering and placards saying "sex is biology, not feelings" are absolutely victims of hate crime, because they believe they are.
