Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 2

Zack Polanski is making things bigger again.

We need a new thread to discuss all his antics and the ongoing situation in the Green party which is getting more ever more bizarre. While it is getting ever strident in denying biology it also has Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it.

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration,(https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing.

In Bristol the Women of Wessex are causing panic amongst the ruling Green council just by turning up and asking questions. This may result in another court case.
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued

With local elections in May and elections in Wales incoming lots more to discuss and call out.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of Hypno Boobs:
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5328986-greens-internal-drama-warms-up

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology enough at the time.

The Zionist motion is going to be a big problem for the Greens:
https://www.lbc.co.uk/article/zack-polanski-zionism-green-party-israel-palestine-5HjdSXq_2/

I note he says about having a Palestinian state: ""The reason why I said no initially is because I don't think it's for political leaders from other countries to wade in and decide what that looks like"

Yet as a man he feels entitled to wade in and decide what a woman looks like. Incredible how misogyny is so deeply embedded in men like him isn't it?

Edited

Yeah I discussed it in the Gorton thread.

It is appalling. 5 Pillocks posts sexist, racist trash and articles about an Islamic Caliphate and their podcast has had Nick Griffin on it warning about the Jews most recently in December!!!

Remember the Greens won't go on GB News yet they are fine with a way way worse site.

Alert!

Greens have dropped their interview with 5 Pillocks. So hanging out with a site that supports literal Nazis is bad then? Who knew.

Green Party promotes then deletes interview with site censured for anti-Jewish and LGBT hate
Zack Polanski, Mothin Ali and Hannah Spencer were interviewed by 5 Pillars, which has conducted chats with some of the UK's most notorious neo-Nazis
Detailed report
https://www.jewishnews.co.uk/green-party-promotes-then-deletes-interview-with-site-censured-for-anti-jewish-and-lgbt-hate/

This is a HUGE scandle. Will it get the reportimg it deserves.

To be fair, Zack and Hannah don't seem like the deepest thinkers. They probably just assumed "Muslim site = left wing", and it wouldn't occur to them to check if 5 Pillocks had done cosy interviews with Nick Griffin.

I suspect Mothin knows all about them though, and he really should have clued the others in.

Mothin did an interview with them months ago so he knows way more.

Note how other parties avoid seeking the 5 pillocks endorsement well except Britain First I guess.

I wonder if 5 Pillocks have interviewed Steve Laws. He seems their kind of guy.

Steve was a candidate for the (post-Farage) UKIP in 2022. In 2024 he was a candidate for the English Democrats. In 2025 he was a candidate for the Homeland Party (getting a grand total of 50 votes as the "deport them all" candidate in Dover of all places). At some point he was also a member of the For Britain Movement. He's now in Rupert Lowe's Restore.

Literally all he does is join small right wing parties that implode a few months after he joins. Once he runs out of them he'll probably join the Greens.

a motion to ” end gender based blanket ban in sport ” on its way to become party policy
Interestingly, not a single member of the Leadership Team, nor any of the Party’s transgender absolutists, Sian Berry, Carla Denyer MPs and Baroness Bennett of Manor Castle appear to have given their support to this motion. Here is the list of the co-proposers:

Is that the lighthouse at the Point of Ayr?

Again 'motion' being applicable in more than one definition.

Chersfrozenface · 23/02/2026 18:48

Just had a Green Party canvasser at the door. He asked what mattered to me, so I told him. He turned on his heel and went off without a word.

Very little time wasted.

fromorbit · 23/02/2026 19:40

Short video extract from Mothin. Remember Mothin needs to be relected in 2027 and people are more aware of him dodging questions. If he was a woman he would of been kicked out over saying things like this.

Wasn't there a case of canvassers elsewhere "making lists" of households that remonstrated with them over their stance on Gaza and such.

If being on their list means they never bother me again, I'll take that as a win.

On the motion: ” People that argue “transwomen have unique biological advantages ” don’t seem to care about all the other biological advantages in sports, such as height, body composition and so on “

It is tragic that critical environmental issues are the supposed remit of the Green Party, but which is currently represented by people clearly unable to join the dots of their own thought processes. Makes me gnash my teeth in frustration. Why didn’t they go start their own political party based on ‘social’ issues instead of eating the Green Party from within.

Chersfrozenface · 24/02/2026 08:58

Why didn’t they go start their own political party based on ‘social’ issues instead of eating the Green Party from within.

Entryism involves much less actual hard work than creating something from scratch.

RainbowBagels · 24/02/2026 17:47

I was going to say the same. They are entryists. They are experts in finding parties who have weak structures that they can join en mass and overtake. They did it with Labour under Corbyn and they've now done it to the Greens. Your Party could have been their party, but its turned into a shambles of infighting- and they've decided Jeremy Corbyn is too Right Wing for them. Its easier to overtake an existing party, partly so they can blame others within the party when their ideas don't work than it is to set up a party of their own and eat themselves in a ideological purity spiral into madness.

Lalgarh · 24/02/2026 21:05

From the Gorton by election thread. Yes it's the Heil, but they do actually cite a policy paper. Green party SEX PEOPLE takeover

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15585569/Now-looney-Greens-call-free-prostitution-porn-election-nears.html#

Sex work involving consenting adults 'should be decriminalised', while restrictions and censorship of sexually explicit material 'should be ended' – except for those protecting children, the Green Party's official policy states.

I'm assuming the consenting adults and explicit material thing is a euphemism for stuff showing violence that has recently been proposed to be banned

Rob Ford's final post on the G&D byelection, taking a look at the two constituency polls.
The two LOC tactical voting sites have endorsed GPEW, but I'm not sure many people will look at them, let alone pay them any heed in what is clearly a three-way race.

Interesting that Lab's online game seems so weak. I'd been wondering about that, since I assume many voters get most of not all of their campaign exposure online.

SionnachRuadh · 24/02/2026 22:25

The GP's current ideological mix of Third Worldism, transgenderism, drugs and porn is beginning to look like a Derek Jarman movie, and not one of the good ones.

ArabellaSaurus · 25/02/2026 11:47
dead GIF

Jarman stripped of the referential underpinnings and frameworks. Thats always what was going to happen as postmodernism queers itself. Punk was a response - a subculture. Now it's moved in as the orthodoxy, and we don't appear to have much of substance to move forward with. Pushing against an open door, with the result I suppose a Del Trotter effect only less funny.

cariadlet · 27/02/2026 16:29

There's an article in the Daily Mail (I don't know if it's in the paper as well or just the mail online) about another batshit Green motion that's up for debate at the Spring Conference. This one is about letting male athletes compete against women in sport if they call themselves women.

There are excellent comments from Sex Matters and from Jude English of Green Women's Declaration.
Trans sports ban is racist, say Greens - as they push for free period products for 'people who menstruate' | Daily Mail Online

Trans sports ban is racist, say Greens

Socially liberal Green members are angling to lift a ban stopping trans women competing in women's sporting events, arguing it fuels 'misogynoir' and stems from 'colonial' attitudes.

SionnachRuadh · 27/02/2026 20:55

Clearly the Greens need to get back to their common sense environmentalist roots when they were led by David Icke.

I'm starting to feel Zack is a reversion to the mean. The Greens had 10 or 15 good years of being led by nice Quaker ladies who cared about clean rivers, and now they're back to being led by wackaloon conspiracy theorists.
