@BettyBooper She wouldn't do that as her focus is on the case and the Panel member is no longer sitting on that Tribunal.
However, I'm sure that there will some kind of approach, for example:
Complaints procedure - HM Courts & Tribunals Service - GOV.UK

Complaints procedure

How to raise a complaint or give general feedback about the service HMCTS provides.

Would it be possible to change your name to Professor XYZ using deed poll?!

Thanks Kitty. Yes, makes sense.

I'm pretty sure Screaming Lord Sutch (RIP) did that.

I note that her husband/ ex has different directorships registered at the same address but assigning him two different DOBs, which is weird.

Again, totally 'normal' on Companies House register, sadly.

As to the professor title, it is relatively common for people already in high places to be given an honorary professor award. Eg the CEO of an NHS University Trust. But it looks as though 'prof' Boyd took on the title early on as part of her own Early Career Grifter strategy to rise to high places. She was appointed to the NI Invest Board in 2002, on which two other members had professor titles, and by 2004 she had mysteriously acquired her own.

But although hon. Profs wont necessarily have a publication record, they will usually be the figurehead of University/industry partnerships, so in a different way they should be all over the internet proudly representing their honorary alma mater.

Zebracat · 15/11/2025 13:43

I would like to apologise to the thread for my complete naïveté with regards to the “professor”. I was wrong. It was right to dig. I don’t much care about Pride flags in 2019, but I really really mind people misrepresenting themselves in Court. Obviously if she is a doctor and a professor then I apologise unreservedly to her too.

Doesn’t matter where - all UK PhD theses are held (now digitally) by the British library so can be freely accessed on their database.

The BL database has been closed for years due to their online attack. I am in there every couple of months and always check access. But for my situation I am not certain it would be UK.

Hamserfan · 15/11/2025 14:03

NotAtMyAge · 15/11/2025 13:11

That used to be the case, but from next week you will need to have officially verified your identity to use the Companies House website. I happen to know because someone I know has had to do this.

Bizarrely as became clear when a relative was scammed by a dodgy company two years ago, they don’t/didn’t even check that the postcode was correct for the registered address. Therefore making it very difficult to send a letter stating small claims court proceedings would be started if refund not forthcoming!

BettyBooper · 15/11/2025 13:27

Given that Our Debs has now recused herself, would NC be allowed to ask the court for proof of Professorship? Or would that be irrelevant /bad etiquette?

I mean it depends on how she wants to run the case and avoid the wrath of a judge who she called biased further prejudicing her clients case.

Im interested to see how she plays it.

Keeptoiletssafe · 15/11/2025 13:15

Professor (second definition):
a person who affirms a faith in or allegiance to something.

Since no one has ever researched my specialist subject or written more about it than me, or bored more people about it and I really, really believe in them in single sex toilets…..

I am declaring myself an honourable Professor (of The Toilet Door Gap).

It's officially true. You've even got a certificate

Can the case really continue?

I am really shocked at the lack of professionalism shown last week.

NW described the judge as 'raging' at NC and openly accusing her of disrespect.

SD was really openly and dramatically rude and dismissive.

DB has left the panel for her own health reasons as it stands so absolutely no documenented finding or agreement of any wrong doing at all.

Absolutely love this! 😍

Congratulations @Keeptoiletssafe , Professor of the Toilet Door Gap!

Very well-deserved!

SexRealistic · 15/11/2025 14:17

Naomi wanted the entire panel to recuse themselves due to imputed bias on the part of the remaining panel members.

The panel heard most of the evidence in the company of a lay panel member who appears very clearly to have falsified records and misrepresented their academic status to both the Tribunal and government officials.

EJ Sturgeon - if this is the way we do it over here 👈 - I much prefer the way they do it over there 👉.

I've done this. It scanned my passport and my face to make sure they matched.
My login is the same as my personal one for my own tax purposes but I think these are allowed to be separate.

Justnot · 15/11/2025 13:23

Professor Keeptoiletssafe can you post a link to your document that explains all the problems with toilets and how they should be ( I know it’s all been posted before so sorry to ask). I was talking to a journo friend the other day who was unaware of the arguments and I explained there was a legend on Mumsnet who had done all the work and would I like to send it to her

Thank you. I have done an article on school toilets that I can send you if you want. Interestingly the DfE have just got back to me on that one (after I targeted a minister in June) and so there’s an official version of we know you know your stuff but we can’t comment. It’s interesting as my article was complaining that their private designs were dangerous for girls, and children with epilepsy and diabetes and anyone having a medical emergency etc. My article discussed I had asked for risk assessments and EIA on their secondary school designs and after a FOI request they said they didn’t hold them.

I know I started a thread ages ago but I tend to be reactive to people who haven’t thought about design and why we can’t have home-like toilets. I will see if I can find it. Also, naively, I thought the Supreme Court verdict would be the welcome end to my campaigning for safer single sex designs 😂. I didn’t expect GLP to argue it because it’s so ludicrous on health and safety terms. I would have been more organised had I known.

Happy to talk to journalists and I can give them my research. Would love it to be The Guardian. As a teenager, I used to fight over the Women section at the weekend. Not much hope of that now 😢.

I suppose my concern is that if DB is not actually a professor and has been hoodwinking the system for a long time (she gave evidence to Parliament in 2004 as a Professor 🤔), then it would surely cast such a shadow over proceedings that it would surely call the whole thing into question.

NC clearly already has her own suspicions:

'NC finally - for a foreign academic PB has a strikingly low online profile. We don't know her specialism. We think steps may have been taken to reduce her online presence making it more difficult to make an application of this order.'

(Foreign likely a typo)

Questions are mounting and are unlikely to go away until this is answered.

MTCoffeePot · 15/11/2025 11:13

Curioser and curioser.... all riveting stuff! I've noticed listings of DB as 'Professor Mrs Deborah Boyd' which sounds odd. I wonder if it is possible DB has extensively cleaned her media profile and has also scrubbed details of her qualifications in the process. Just a thought.

Yeah - I thought that was odd as well - even on companies' house

@Keeptoiletssafe I don’t know if it will come to anything - she just didn’t understand the problem with the enclosed cubicle thing so thought it was an opportunity to enlighten her - and might be of interest at the moment. She is of that ilk so not sure how easy it would be to get something published but I see it as planting seeds…..article sounds great if you can find it

(Howse has ruined …… for me)

Yes it was - for an academic- rather than foreign academic.

No shade on the fab Nick Wallis but I was paying close attention.

PoshCoffee · 15/11/2025 14:42

I’ve only managed to catch up to 9am today so apologies if this has already been pointed out. Loopholes in limited company legislation have allowed anyone to setup British company with very little scrutiny for a long long time. In this episode of The Missing Cryptoqueen, an expert explains how the Companies House system is exploited by those that wish to hide from the authorities in plain sight.
Im not saying DB has done anything dodgy at all, I’m pointing out that anything can be put on Companies House and it’s not checked by Companies House. (CH has attempted to close this loophole recently)

Good to have that confirmed!

I think the Court should really get ahead of this. It'll just make them look incompetent at best if they ignore the speculation.

And I doubt NC will just let it drop.

SexRealistic · 15/11/2025 14:49

There are only 5 Judges on employment matters here in NI.

That means no one local is going to rock the boat because you as boat rocker are sure to meet that Judge again soon. Your practice and income is at risk.

There are 5 full time Employment Judges.

  • Employment Judge Brian Greene
  • Employment Judge Orla Murray
  • Employment Judge Barbara Gamble
  • Employment Judge Conor Hamill
  • Employment Judge Lisa Sturgeon

In addition there are 20 fee paid employment judges.

There are currently 16 employee panel members and 28 employer panel members.

I am assuming Deborah is an employer panel member. But there are relatively few and again the local solicitors and barristers will have sat in front of “Prof” time and time again. So there is no benefit to rocking the boat. Who wants paranoid and pissed off panel members?

Who is going to risk their name here?

It’s the same omertà that has kept women on the back foot.

Sara approached 20 lawyers before she found one to stand up for her. So many standing with the status quo and not seeing what’s in front of them.

That transwoman is a man.
That Profressor isn’t not academically qualified.

Saying true things out loud is important.
