I just wanted to draw your attention to the march planned for the 1st November in London. The organisers have now announced that there will be a 199 Days Later demo in Edinburgh, Scottish Parliament, and a demo in Cardiff, the Senedd, at the same time. Hopefully lots more women can now attend the closest action to them.

Anyone know who’s speaking in London? I don’t think I’ve seen any announcements.

They are not announcing speakers, but the speakers are free to announce themselves. StephanieDavies-Arai has announced. I've seen the list - you will not be disappointed, most areas affected by the SC ruling are covered.

I think it’s been poorly advertised. I think women not in particular networks won’t know it’s on. I have no idea what time the Ed one starts. I get most of my info from FWS who don’t seem to be involved in this one

Hi girls, I am thinking about coming on Saturday to the London gathering but I can't see much information online. Would anyone be able to tell me what will be happening? I am feeling so worried about this rise of anti-woman trans stuff, especially for my young children...

Women are meeting in Parliament Square at 12.30

I've seen a list of the London speakers. There's going to be some great women speaking on a range of issues.

It's very much a grassroots event organised by ordinary women; it isn't being promoted by big organisations like Sex Matters and WRN.

The women involved have been promoting it via social media and WhatsApp groups and encouraging women to share in their own trusted networks.

I saw the leaflets at FiLiA and Battle of Ideas and am sure they will have been given out elsewhere too.

I don't know what more the organisers could have done.

IwantToRetire · 01/11/2025 02:07

I raised this earlier, and posted as i wanted to share info.

Twitter is the least used sm platform. And cant be viewed by people who aren't signed up. At least have a facebook page.

And saying info is in an image doesn't help anyone.

And now as though to continue this strange no info in advance, responses to a post saying I have seen the list of speakers, they are great, but not sharing. Confused

And in fact updates on FWR with actual information wouldn't have cost anything.

Such a shame.

For women who have never attended events, and have concerns, its bewildering.

Girls?

I would really not recommend putting your phone number on here - this is very much a public space and anyone with any sort of motivation could see it. I would ask to have your post removed.

suefr0cks · 01/11/2025 09:44

Thank you- how do I do that?

TwoLoonsAndASprout · 01/11/2025 09:48

I think you report your own message - there is an option for that if you click the three dots top right of your message. You can choose “other” for why, and then explain.

suefr0cks · 01/11/2025 09:51

Mums nettplease can you remove my post with my phone number on it? Thank you!

suefr0cks · 01/11/2025 09:54

Thank you 2 loons!

ShallWeDance · 01/11/2025 10:24

Good luck today--stay safe.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/11/2025 10:38

Hope it all goes well, cheering you on from abroad! And yes, stay safe.

AMansAManForAllThat · 01/11/2025 11:11

I couldn’t live further away, but good luck everyone!

weegielass · 01/11/2025 11:54

its my bday so wont be going. Anyone know who the speakers are and if there's any live coverage anywhere?

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 01/11/2025 12:20

Unable to travel, but have emailed several MPs to match today's action. Hats off to the women organising; it is very difficult to do when too much publicity just aids the men and their enablers who will no doubt turn up to scream, shout, threaten and make it clear they hate women's rights and want them destroyed.

Hoping it's a great day.

334bu · 01/11/2025 14:21

Just left Edinburgh protest. Excellent speakers and the police did their job this time. Thank you so much to the organisers.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/11/2025 14:23

That’s great to hear!

Brilliant, so good to hear.

lanadelgrey · 01/11/2025 14:46

Still at London rally. Great speakers. Well policed.

BettyFilous · 01/11/2025 14:53

What’s the turnout been like at these events?

ArabellaSaurus · 01/11/2025 15:44

Photos on X look like a great day, although also some scuffles between police and trans activists. It appears no women have been arrested for the literal violence of brolly touching.
