this whole incident will have peaked many many people. Spectacular own goal from the TRA who wanted to upset Glinner.

The absolute brass neck of Sir Mark Rowley to claim that the police’s hands are tied and they absolutely have to investigate if it looks like it might fall within the definition of a crime.

When the Met are failing to investigate actual crimes with evidence on clear-cut offences like burglary, car crime and domestic violence. They openly refuse to investigate, and say as much, even where crime victims present them with evidence they’ve gathered themselves. As somebody living within the Met’s fiefdom I am disgusted at their abject failure over the years to police effectively.

So, Sir Mark, which is it?

Are you honour bound to investigate all putative crimes?

Or only some?

And if the latter (which, let’s face it, is obviously what’s happening), who chooses which crimes get investigated and which get ignored, and on what basis is this decided?

Quite. If they can afford armed police officers attending Heathrow for this, they can send a SOCO round my Mum's when someone breaks in. Instead of just a number for the insurance.

Charabanc · 03/09/2025 14:50

Glinner is now becoming a cause celebre, even amonst people who can't bear him. Absolutely hilarious.

Well done Lynsay Watson!

Yes getting Owen Jones to agree with Keir Starmer, JKRowling AND Nigel Farage all at the same time is a moment we should all reflect on.

Does this make him a Nazi?

Ah, I think you'll find that BeingANaziByAssociation is one of those irregular verbs Wink

Only Bad People Who Are Not 100% With The Omnicause can get tainted with Far-Right Naziism simply by passing within the same planetary orbit of Other Bad People.

Good People With The Bundle Of Good Beliefs get a free pass. Coz they're Righteous.

Is he taking this up with his Scottish Counter Parts who don't have a problem with certain protests and signs at those protests?

Has someone asked him how the investigation into the 'Cricket Kids' is going?

The funny thing is it was very much the quiet season for GCs v TRAs. Supreme Court guidance still being awaited, Sandie Peggie case going into the doldrums,
Good Law Project grinding on with their pointless cases.

And then comes along this, to light it all up again. But as PPs have said, this has even broader implications, for freedom of speech.

@murasaki

The documentary about the 30 Yr old man who posed as a school boy.

Two things that stood out; his massive sense of entitlement & disregard for other’s feelings. The upset, embarrassment & confusion felt by the children whose space he had invaded. Particularly the young girl who’d had to kiss him as part of the school play.

All very familiar.

Is that about the school in Bearsden in the late 80s?

I wonder if he looked at the mainstream media and began to realise exactly how FAFO applies here?

He’s done well to get the free speech issue up front at least, as stressful as it must be.

It seems he’s suing too now. A shame vexatious attackers can’t be sued too.

deadpan · 03/09/2025 15:02

ArabellaScott · 03/09/2025 14:36

Most pertinent here, is: If a man invades a woman's space and is threatening, abusive, the police will do nothing. If a man suggests women should call the police, or punch this hypothetical man, he is arrested for threatening violence.

Men can threaten women with impunity. Men who feel they are threatened by a hypothetical tweet can mobilise a team of five armed police.

All they need to do is claim a special sort of 'gender identity'.

And don't forget that men who say they're women are still going into facilities for females and taking photos of themselves ie: India Willoughby, "Sophie Molly" and Sam Nicoresti.

FriedGold32 · 03/09/2025 15:06

I found the audio of the arrest really quite upsetting. The sound of a man who has been and continues to be tormented by some of society's worst people, supported by state institutions.

I haven’t listened but I think I would find it upsetting too.

To be clear to people on here who don't realise, "Lynsay Watson" is a TIM ex-policeman who was sacked from the police for being a TRA nutter:

https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Lynsay-Watson-v-Police-Appeals-Tribunal.pdf

He runs an account on X and Bluesky called https://bsky.app/profile/seenpoliceuk.bsky.social He pretends he has "volunteers", but it's all him really.

He thinks he has some legal expertise, and wields Judicial Reviews against anyone or thing he doesn't like. And he is the person who made this disastrous (for the TRAs) complaint against Glinner:

https://bsky.app/profile/seenpoliceuk.bsky.social/post/3lxtqvcfv322l

He's also made himself and Interested Party in the court case that Glinner is defending this week, from another TRA.

I don't know if this has been posted before but it may partially explain why the metropolitan police chose to investigate the complaint. He doesn't go away quietly if his complaints are ignored.

Yes, I never saw it but read about him in the newspaper at the time. It was in the 90s. Brian Mckinnon.

AFishDoesntKnow · 03/09/2025 15:17

We really need a new Met police chief, as he doesn't even understand the criticism. A fish doesn't know it's in water.

All the headlines are about being arrested at Heathrow by 5 cops with guns.

Sure people would have thought it ridiculous them just investigating.

But if they'd even just called him up and invited him to the station to give a statement it wouldn't have provoked the same level of outrage.

And yeah I thought it was surreal Keir Starmer, Nigel Farage, Owen Jones and so on all agreed on something!

I can't remember the last time that happened. Queen Elizabeth died and that was very sad?

PronounssheRa · 03/09/2025 15:26

Its a beautiful thing, left, right, centre all agreeing.

Well done Lyndsay and the rest for putting this firmly in the spotlight, I don't think any amount of free speech campaigning could have achieved so much, in such short time.

Well done. Take a bow.

I know! By virtue of own goal, they’ve created a giant,
pivotal moment where people sit up and listen and perhaps for the first time understand who the problem is.
(hint, Graham isn’t the problem)

There seems to be a real anti-woman bias in their choices too.

MoltenLasagne · 03/09/2025 15:41

I like the clarity of wording in that Telegraph article "male trans athletes" and "male trans colleague". Really highlights that the issue is not the trans part, but the male part.
