I'll admit that I have premeditated self defense methods.

Like most women, I've run through the options when finding myself in a vulnerable situation with a threatening male.

Bollock kicking has occurred to me. As has eyeball gouging, a swift hand-heel to the nose, and elbows to the face.

If a man threatens me in future, I hope I have the werewithal to remember how to defend myself.

If that's 'premeditated violence', then we're going to need a bigger prison.

AS said earlier in the thread, there is no need to respond to posts that are intended to derail.

Just ignore so we can get on with discussing the issue not with the dillusional.

Thats 2 pages of new posts I've just caught up with 50% of which are a waste of time.

This is a long thread and I haven't read all the replies, but have there been any, ANY arrests arising from social media posts threatening women?

My dad always used to say to me when I was younger that if I was ever in a situation where a man was a threat to me, I should kick him in the balls, and while he’s bending down clutching his tackle poke him in the eyes and run away.

As everyone has already said, this is fucking insane. Hundreds of tweets on SM and banners/verbal threats from TRAs promising violent deaths to "terfs" (in general, and named women eg JKR) completely ignored, but five armed police officers sent to arrest a comedy writer.

It's not patronising unless it's actually clever. Word salad isn't clever, it's just word salad, and it's a classic mark of how a bad writer tries to sound smart. Like Elmer Fudd with those fridge poetry magnets.

I was groped on a train once, and by instinct I punched him - in the chest, which was at a convenient height. I'd never punched anyone before (and haven't since!) and it had zero effect on him as his chest was like a brick. I'd have been much more effective with some forethought and maybe some practice.

I suspect pretty much every woman and girl in the country has been given this advice at some time in their life. That and keep your keys in your hand if you are walking by yourself after dark.
