Welcome one and all - as the nights draw in, pull up a chair to the fire, and the gerbils will be along soon with hot chocolate and Tunnock’s teacakes.

Caught up at last...<puffing> Thought it was about time I had a spirit animal so this is what co-pilot came up with.

Cute! But I can see why it took a while to get here.

You just know the gerbils will be wanting rides off you round the goats paddock don't you!

Oh noo...!! Not sure I want to be ridden by gerbils besides they have enough distractions already. The image is a bit too cutesy for me. I have many qualities but cute is not one I recognise. May need a rethink by co-pilot

Chersfrozenface · 31/08/2025 10:26

I can't decide on a spirit animal. I rather think it would have to be a shape-changing thing that would match my mood at any given time.

Today I may be a... What's kind of slow but inclined to turn a bit snarly when provoked?

I have no idea why that posted twice. I only pressed the Post button once. There wasn't even an appreciable delay.

What with that and the tardy/vanishing images, MN seems to be getting a bit glitchy.

Whatever you choose, Cher, may I suggest going for a black and white colour scheme? All the best people do.

Oh you're cute! Shetland?

FuzzyPuffling · 31/08/2025 10:43

In my ( limited) experience Shetland ponies are grumpy, bitey things, and belie their cute appearance.

FarriersGirl · 31/08/2025 10:50

Well Co-pilot has had several goes at being less cute and discouraging the gerbils. Not sure this is going to be a success

@FarriersGirl Ha ha

Bannedontherun · 31/08/2025 11:05

Just. Done a spot of gardening and decided i could not be arsed after 45 minutes. Saw an AIBU about a couple shagging in front of a window with. The light on.

Reminded me of a time we used to pass a row of terraces on the way home from the pub in the village.

there was a couple who used to sit in the lounge zonked out surrounded by eaten take away, with lights on and curtains open people used to peer in for the entertainment of it. Bets were placed on whether they would be hanging off their chair, left or right, who would be asleep on the sofa etc.

They must have found out eventually as curtains were firmly shut after a while.

Classy colour scheme, @Britinme, good choice!
Welcome @BeGreatKhakiOtter. Any idea what sort of otter you are?
@ifIwerenotanandroid and @inkymoose I wouldn't mind an individual older gentleman (no clones please) but no face fungus either, ta. Which rules out almost all of the clientele of the Staunch Ally, as far as I can tell. Have their gerbils decided they can't be trusted with razors?

No, Gemini seems to have decided that all older gents have beards. Even when I asked for 'clean-shaven', almost all of them had a beard.

Apart from that, Gemini is pretty impressive. It can spell & attach the correct number of limbs & digits.

I am overall quite impressed with Gemini too. I must have words with it about men and beards though.

I do have moments when I think my spirit animal might be the horseshoe crab. You have to respect the horseshoe crab. 445 million years and no evolution.

But I'm just too curious and too easily bored.

When you find out, I'll be one too (three four).

Magpiecomplex · 31/08/2025 11:17

I see what you mean, Android. Asking for clean-shaven men gave me men with anything between designer stubble and beards. Explained what clean-shaven meant and asked it for another go, and 80% of them are now acquainted with their razors, but still not all!
And there's still a touch of the clones about them too.

@ifIwerenotanandroid ah well we need all the allies we can get...

Apologies if this is too personal a question/ you got it all the time...but do androids dream of electric sheep?

If PKD didn't answer that, I'm not sure I can.

Well, I guess he could have been clean-shaven a few days ago. They are a bit samey, though.

They seem to like you, Magpie. Or have you entranced them with that... what is it? The Magic Lost Earring From Under The Sofa, with which men can be lured to their doom?

The prompt described me as a very impressive magpie, but I prefer the enchanted Lost Earring with which to lure men to their doom explanation.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 31/08/2025 11:35

I tried putting the guys in normal clothes, but Gemini went a bit weird, so you're having your wicked way with leisure runners. Bit specific. Don't you like leisure runners?
