JKR Didn’t Have an Opinion. She Poisoned the Well

CSIRCP · 28/08/2025 14:32

This post will likely be a little too long for most, but if you can spare the time and have a cuppa handy let's sit down and have a chat, shall we?

Firstly, let’s stop calling this a debate. It’s not. This isn’t two sets of ideas clashing. This is one woman’s fear and confusion being weaponized against an entire community.

What J.K. Rowling has done is not just share an opinion. She’s poisoned the well. And that poison is spreading through politics, education, the media, and even the courts.

At the beginning, it might have looked like a tweet. Then a blog. But what she wrote in that essay was revealing: “If I’d been born thirty years later, I too might have tried to transition. The allure of escaping womanhood would have been huge.”
That’s not neutral. That’s projection. It was a confession, repackaged as concern. She projected her own dysphoria and personal battles onto the entire trans community and used it as the foundation for a movement built on suspicion and fear.

She said she cared about women’s rights. Then aligned herself with those who believe all trans women are predators.
She liked racist and Islamophobic tweets. She repeated antisemitic tropes. She cast activists as violent men in dresses. She accused anyone who challenged her of misogyny while branding herself the face of feminism.
All the while she built up a devoted audience that now includes some of the most extreme anti-trans voices in Britain and beyond.

This “gender critical” movement is not about safety, and it’s certainly not about truth. It’s about control.
Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull (Posie Parker), one of Rowling’s ideological allies, has welcomed neo-Nazis to her rallies. Actual Nazis. The kind of people Rowling once wrote villains about.
In one case, people connected to this movement were linked to the satanic terror group 764 — a group that has influenced teen suicides and violent attacks in UK schools. Let that sink in. This is who she’s empowering.

She didn’t just turn away when that started. She doubled down. She gave this movement a gloss of legitimacy. She used her fame to funnel people toward disinformation, fear, and cruelty—and dressed it all up as feminism. But it isn’t feminism when it excludes, vilifies, and harms other women. Especially trans women. Especially intersex people. Especially anyone who doesn’t fit into the narrow fantasy of who is acceptable.

Rowling’s language now echoes in government documents. Her phrases like “gender ideology” have been lifted from far right sources, including the Vatican and authoritarian regimes, and mainstreamed into British law. Her influence helped set the stage for the UK Supreme Court to redefine the word “woman” based on sex assigned at birth, stripping rights from trans and intersex people under the Equality Act. That’s what happens when the well is poisoned. People stop thinking. They start reacting.

Meanwhile, her cult chant her slogans as though they are scientific fact. But science says otherwise. Peer-reviewed studies show that trans people’s brain structures do not align with their sex assigned at birth. They show that gender identity forms in the womb, shaped by hormones and biology not ideology. Large-scale DNA studies have found gene variants linked to gender incongruence. And intersex people exist. That is biological fact. Not one of these truths can be erased by Rowling’s fiction.

What makes this so dangerous is how calm it all sounds. Rowling doesn’t scream. She whispers. She calls it “concern.” She says she’s “just asking questions.”
But it’s never neutral to question someone’s right to exist. It’s not a debate when one side is simply trying to live and the other is trying to strip away their legal recognition and healthcare.

This isn’t just a disagreement. This is a slow campaign of erasure, led by someone with a global platform and millions in the bank.

She’s not some deluded soul from MN; she’s a multi-millionaire author whose words shape global policy. She’s not being silenced. She’s being echoed by judges, by pundits, by politicians trying to climb the ladder by stepping on the backs of trans, non-binary, and intersex people.

And let’s not pretend it stops there. Her influence has allowed people to feel safe expressing open homophobia, biphobia, and hatred toward anyone who challenges gender norms. Some of the same people aligned with her have mocked survivors, denied racism, and claimed slavery was “fine” if it was “kind.”
This is not a group grounded in empathy. It’s a movement that thrives on exclusion and resentment. Some of them now openly identify as neo Nazis. That’s where we are.

So next time someone says “she’s just worried” or “she’s not anti-trans” or “can’t we just disagree,” consider these words. Show them what poison looks like. Not just hateful speech but the deliberate seeding of doubt, division, and cruelty, all wrapped in a soft voice and a smug smile. J.K. Rowling didn’t protect anyone. She infected people. And when she’s gone, her legacy won’t be literature it will be the damage she left behind.

You don’t need to cancel her. You just need to see her clearly.
And if you blindly follow Rowling and her ideas then you need to reflect on what you’re really endorsing.

Because ignorance is not an excuse. Not anymore.

If anything my take away from my interactions is here is simply I do know who I am and what I want. Despite the fact I want to be loved and accepted for who I am by everyone I know now more so that it’s down to me to find and forge that.

But that will be as me and I’m not a man whatever you all think.

Except you are a man.

We aren’t going to tell you you’re a woman, because you’re not. Anorexic people have dysphoria, I would tell them they’re fat, because they’re not.

You can delude yourself all you like. But you’ve no right to expect women to pander to your delusions. And you have no right to break the law and enter our spaces.

I don’t know what you think it is that makes you a woman but I bet my bottom dollar it’s steeped in sexist stereotypes. We don’t stand for that round these parts, and more women are waking up to men like you. We don’t want you in our spaces. Tell yourself whatever you like - but leave women alone and stop demanding, guilting and gaslighting us into agreeing with you.

So many women have shared their experiences of dysphoria. You’ve not acknowledged any on either thread. It’s all been me me me me me. And you wonder why we don’t give a shit about what you think you are. Why should we? You don’t give a shit about women, unless you can use them as an emotional support animal to validate your delusions.

and I’m not a man whatever you all think.

even you don’t actually believe you’re not a man,

you know you are

and you know that everyone who interacts with you knows you’re a man.

It’s just some of them are better at/more prepared to play ‘let’s pretend’ than the women here.

Yes IRL @SnugPeach women will be afraid to speak out against you, even though they will be thinking “thats a man”. Dont take their silence as validation. Take their silence as the female instinct of “I’d better not upset the man as he may get violent”.

I hope you surround yourself with people who make you happy.

Stay out of women's singles sex spaces though, as they aren't for men., And you are indeed a man, in every fibre of your being.

TrainedByCats · 29/08/2025 01:47

@SnugPeach this pretence that you’re a woman is a distraction from the shit bits of your life, longer term you’d be happier addressing your anxiety and learning to live with your autism. Many of us have had to do just that and have built happy fulfilled lives that are not built on an untruth.

I fully Intend to apply for a GRC as soon as I’m able. However due to an unsupportive loving situation I wasn’t able to change my name until last year. Next year I will begin the process of obtaining a GRC considering I will have my two diagnoses of Gender Dysphoria. Getting a GRC is not easy you know. Not that having one seems to mean anything more to most people here I assume?

A GRC is not intended to mean anything to anyone other than the holder. It permits you to full yourself and pretend that the reality if your birth no longer exists but it’s meaningless to the rest of society.

BeLemonNow · 29/08/2025 02:09

"I’m not a man whatever you all think."

What we or anyone thinks has nothing to do with whether someone is male or female.

You only care about what we, women, think is so far as to try and validate what you claim to feel.

That's stereotypical male behaviour, I'm afraid.

Who has sold you this pipe dream of “being loved and accepted for who I am by everyone”. Who the fuck is loved and accepted by everyone? That’s just not a thing. That’s not real life. Stop trying to turn buzz phrases into your reality.

You choosing to abuse a woman for having an opinion you dont agree with is not new.

"Everyone I dont agree with is a Nazi" is a classic meme.

Is it ever acceptable for women to tell men to fuck off? | Mumsnet

Or does it make us look unintelligent, unreasonable, unkind, irrational or uncouth so we shouldn't do it? Should we care about this?

PennyAnnLane · 29/08/2025 02:44

@SnugPeach you desperately want to be a woman yet you can’t even define what a woman is, or rather you won’t define what a woman is because you know there is no acceptable way to define woman that could possibly include you. If I were you I’d give that some serious thought before going any further, because the rest of the population can define woman and your identity heavily depends on validation from others.

Wow. The ignorance and disinformation in your post belies a level of brainwashing and hatred of feminism that we don't see much. Lets start.

Firstly, let’s stop calling this a debate. It’s not. This isn’t two sets of ideas clashing. This is one woman’s fear and confusion being weaponized against an entire community.

No, it is 50% of the population - the FEMALE SEX, fighting for our rights against the oppressor and predator 50% of the population who are weaponising Male Privilege against womens HARD FOUGHT RIGHTS to safety, to privacy and to dignity.

What J.K. Rowling has done is not just share an opinion. She’s poisoned the well. And that poison is spreading through politics, education, the media, and even the courts.

The gaslighting and DARVO here can only come from a male poster. The TRAs have captured the entirety of society; government, politics, the media, and education. They are poisoning the well against womens rights.

  • “If I’d been born thirty years later, I too might have tried to transition. The allure of escaping womanhood would have been huge.” That’s not neutral. That’s projection. It was a confession, repackaged as concern. She projected her own dysphoria and personal battles onto the entire trans community and used it as the foundation for a movement built on suspicion and fear.*

What a male like yourself doesn't understand is that females are so oppressed, we would do anything to opt out of that oppression. Which is why young girls are the fast growing group to attempt to identify as males. ANY woman back then if given the chance, would choose to opt out of being oppressed. That is fact.
And it's not about 'trans'. It's about the MALE community.

Then aligned herself with those who believe all trans women are predators.

No she has not. That is a lie. And btw, it's about MALES being predators. Nothing to do with 'trans women' except that they happen to be male.

She liked racist and Islamophobic tweets.

I'll be sending a link to JK about this because I am sure her legal team will want to know about your lies. She has no once, not ones, liked racist or Islamophobic tweets. The fact that you are knowingly making up absurd lies on the spot shows you know you men are losing this war and you are getting desperate.

She repeated antisemitic tropes.

She has not once did that. Again, you've defamed her and lied on the spot.

She cast activists as violent men in dresses.

When your group of activists threaten to rape women who say no to calling men women, when they threaten to assault us, say we should be raped until our uterus bleeds, go to rallies with placards saying 'burn the witches', 'the only good terf is a dead terf, with drawing of a rope', when they URINATE of feminist statues, what else would you call them? Look at the images (only 4 out of a folder of around 1600 on trans violence against women) and tell me these men aren't violent! Go on.

All the while she built up a devoted audience that now includes some of the most extreme anti-trans voices in Britain and beyond.

'anti-trans' voices? By that you mean PRO-WOMEN. Because as you've just admitted, to be pro-trans = anti-women.

Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull (Posie Parker), one of Rowling’s ideological allies, has welcomed neo-Nazis to her rallies. Actual Nazis.

Not this tired old debunked LIE. There has never been any proof that Posie has ever welcomed any Nazis at her rally - be they 'neo' or otherwise. That is also libel and is actionable.

In one case, people connected to this movement were linked to the satanic terror group 764 — a group that has influenced teen suicides and violent attacks in UK schools. Let that sink in. This is who she’s empowering.

You are confused, that is the terror group that one of the latest trans school shooters was involved with.

But it isn’t feminism when it excludes, vilifies, and harms other women. Especially trans women. Especially intersex people. Especially anyone who doesn’t fit into the narrow fantasy of who is acceptable.

Transwomen are MALE. They are not female. Feminism centres females. Not males. It is LITERALLY in the name. A male with a cock and ballsack is not and never will be part of feminism. And stop weaponising intersex people. Only scum do this. Intersex/people with DSDs are all either male or female, and they have asked REPEATEDLY that you stop weaponising them in this discussion. Show some respect and respect their wishes.

That is because it IS Gender Ideology. It is a hateful, misogynistic cult that seeks to erase womens rights. And get your facts straight; a woman has ALWAYS been defined as a biological female. It RESTORES the original meaning and restores female rights. Intersex people lost no rights, they are male or female. Trans people are male or female, and a male NEVER had the right to enter female spaces. It doesn't remove a 'right' they NEVER HAD.

More lies and pseudoscience. There is NOT...ONE actual peer reviewed study that shows a difference in trans brains. Not...one. And if there was, don't you think the trans community themselves would be championing it, as PROOF, as a medical test? FFS, try thinking a little. Gender 'identity' is a man-made, misogynistic social construct. What you are doing is spewing patriarchy ideology and pseudoscience to support a misogynist reality. Intersex are MALE or FEMALE. That is a biological fact. Intersex confirms the binary nature of sex. Your pseudoscience is not held up by science or Biologists.

But it’s never neutral to question someone’s right to exist. It’s not a debate when one side is simply trying to live and the other is trying to strip away their legal recognition and healthcare.

More gaslighting and DARVO. No one is questioning males right to exist. What we are saying is males do not have the right to remove the female sex's right to live and to strip away our legal rights. Males 'rights' end, where it takes away female hard won sex-based rights.

This isn’t just a disagreement. This is a slow campaign of erasure, led by someone with a global platform and millions in the bank.

The slow campaign (actually, fast, since not even gay people were able to hijack womens rights within a generation) of erasure is by Mens Rights activists like yourself who use 'trans' to erase womens rights and give a veneer of respectability to your misogyny. That's the truth of it. I genuinely don't believe you even care about trans people. You use them as a weapon to hurt women.

She’s not some deluded soul from MN; she’s a multi-millionaire author whose words shape global policy. She’s not being silenced. She’s being echoed by judges, by pundits, by politicians trying to climb the ladder by stepping on the backs of trans, non-binary, and intersex people.

How dare a feminist use her fame to champion the sex-based rights of women and girls around the world, including in Talibanic Afghanistan. How DARE she champion the rights of a RAPE SURVIVOR LIKE ME to have safe single sex spaces. While you and the other misogynist steps on the back of the oppressed female sex to boost males even higher. No, how dare you!

Those who express homophobia and biphobia, as well as femphobia and racism, have all been on the 'pro-trans' side. Funny that.... Even a former head of Stonewall claims being same-sex attracted is "sexual racism". Hows that for homophobia. And the rest of your claims are outright lies made up on the spot that you cannot provide sources for your claims.

You spew a lot of venom and none of it is grounded in reality. You provide ZERO EVIDENCE for any of your claims and libel. You practice gaslighting and DARVO. All to strip the hard won sex-based rights of the FEMALE sex class, so as to appease the predator and oppressor sex class. Stripped down bare, that is what your agenda is. The total obliteration and destruction of female rights, to fulfil your agenda of Male Supremacy.

Forgot the images that represent the hateful and violent male pattern aggression activists you support. This is your mob. This, is what you support. Feel proud?

You were warned it was a little too long for some people; perhaps the implication was a touch on the subtle side.

But let's make it clearer for you.

What JKR has done is create a kind of "activism dopamine"; a hate activity which makes people feel like they're doing something without actually doing anything (or actually helping the thing they should be fighting against, in this case the patriarchy).

TERFism generally appeals to women who are enraged at the patriarchy but too comfortable with our current patriarchal society to try to make any changes by deconstructing the concept of gender, by portraying trans people as an acceptable lower class that they can punch down on and feel like they're doing something when actually they aren't. Talia Bhatt has some good writings on this in her book Trans/Rad/Fem.

For JKR specifically, it probably also helps that she can grift more social media attention and money out of being the figurehead for the movement.

Ah, you're another 'shit out an AI Mens Rights spiel and run away like a gutless coward', as you have not replied to anything else, and hate the fact you had your arse handed to you and you fled back to Mens Rights headquarters with your tail in between your legs.

MALES are the PREDATOR and OPPRESSOR sex class. We are punching 'up' to them, not down. They, are the ones punching down on us. A male in a dress with a cock and nut sack is not 'marginalised' or down the totem pole because they put in a dress and lipstick. What you Mens Rights misogynists are doing, is rebadging a group of males as women, so you can then claim males are oppressed and females are the ones punching down on men. You're really that transparent.

Go back to watching your Andrew Tate videos. You're far too transparent in your vicious and malignant hatred of women.

JK is simply the manifestation of attention seeking haz been mythical creature that has been desperately seeking relevance via cos playing suffragette. And being the over achiever she is, seems to be 'selling' quite well again.

Yes we know you hate women.

Mate. Is this your version of “Pull your head in, it is not a cattle truck.”? I’d say you are projecting again.

However the projection is needed for that the growing Matterhorn no doubt.

So much condescension in the first two lines already, blimey.

Those first two lines was when it was obvious it was a male speaking down condescendingly to women. They really have no idea how 'male' their speech is. It was obvious it was a far right misogynist jerking his 4 incher over Andrew Tate videos and fantasising about schooling those 'horrible wommin' for daring to want human rights. The smug condescending male with tiny dick energy is wafting right through the screens.

I don’t think being a women is a costume god no. I already stated in my prior thread if I could change my dna then I would. But I can’t can I. I also can’t deal with my dysphoria without transitioning so I guess thats all I’ve got.

Why? Other people can and have dealt with gender dysphoria without transitioning. You have had women tell you they too have experienced it and that they had to get support to accept reality and deal with it. The people who don’t transition are the ones living an authentic life being who they are in reality.

You have allowed yourself to be convinced that transition is the answer for your trauma. You even manipulated people to get chemical treatment.

This thread seems to be back lash from the OP after someone on the Catholic church shooting of children thread posted all the vicious trans tweets against JKR as an example of the fury some men feel when they are told they are not women. This was so as to show how the trans shooter in question may have similarly felt fury against the Catholic church which is known to be against the idea that anyone can change sex.

Suspiciously, all these new posters like the OP have no other posts to their name except on trans issues. The batcave signal went out from Mens Rights international and reddit for misogynist bigots to school those 'foolish wimmin' thinking they should have human rights. They use AI (hence their novel length OPs) because misogynists don't know too many words themselves.

'This post will likely be a little too long for most, but if you can spare the time and have a cuppa handy let's sit down and have a chat, shall we?'

I mean I love a self absorbed narcissist mansplaining life to us silly little women as much as the next person - but could you be more patronising?

Interested to know what you've done for the world that compares to JK though OP. Perhaps you could mansplain us through that instead.

Yup, the language is so very distinctively MALE. No woman speaks like that or starts off a post like that. We just don't! Men have no clue at all that there is a way women speak and a way men speak. And the smug, patronising, condescending intro f*cking REEKS of male. He gave himself away.

As a woman and feminist I strongly disagree. The vast majority of women are not Gender Criticals. Gender Vriticals use feminism as a shield to justify their bigotry. If you think transwomen are the problem regarding women’s rights you are no different to Trump, Musk and the rest of the far right fools,

Transwomen are males. Feminism centres females. It is literally in the name. A male is a male is a male. A male in a dress is no less a male. You're hateful misogynistic bigotry is sad. You are NO feminist if you centre MALES.

ThatBlackCat · 29/08/2025 05:43

Sammybabes16 · 28/08/2025 15:18

Perfectly fine. I think sometimes mums net is a sounding room for Gender Criticals and Terfs. Those views are not a reflection of thd majority of women. I left this site before because of the vicious behaviour of GCs when I pointed out under a different username that most woken don’t hold their views.

it seems stating facts makes them angry.

Wrong. Poll after poll after poll (proper commissioned polls such as YouGov, not twitter polls or phone/text polls) shows that Gender Critical feminists are the overwhelming majority. You are so stuck in your ever-decreasing echo chamber that you don't see you are the fringe minority.

Helleofabore · 29/08/2025 05:46

SnugPeach · 28/08/2025 23:42

Quite literally some brains are. I’m Autistic and this neurodivergent. My brain works differently to people who are neurotypical.

Edited

Sure.

Your brain is not showing signs of being different though to a ‘male’ brain. It is a male brain and your brain’s responses will resemble other male people’s brains with your own neurodiversity.

You tried to infer that transgender people’s brains are somehow different to those who don’t have a transgender identity. You included it in this paragraph:

’Surely in the complex scientific understanding we have of our own bodies and that of other animals, so who do in fact change sex. It’s not an alien concept to acknowledge that maybe some people are like this too. Some Brains are different.’

They have researched this and the results were that those male brains of people who have a transgender identity still fit into the results of the male results.

It really seems you have not spent the time you are researching on the internet well at all.

And please stop telling women that you spent so long living with your reality but it made you miserable. ‘Woman’ is not a label to claim if you have achieved a level of misery and hardship. Our words and our single sex spaces are not rewards for very sad or very traumatised male people to be able to claim.

Do you begin to understand what you are doing? Do you also understand the manipulativeness of telling women how miserable you were but now you are happy as if this is supposed to convince us to accept your version of reality over the material reality we all live in despite your rejection of it?

I’m not from Scotland so I do not know those details. I lived in Norway for many years where the have self ID. It really isn’t an issue and it had not affected our rights as women at all. Norway has been voted by the UN many times as the best country for women’s rights in the world. That’s what’s important to me not what someone wears or looks like or which bathroom they use.

Thats irrational

Women are SILENCED in Norway, which is why you are not hearing stories. But we do know self ID has had an enormous effect on womens rights, safety and their privacy and dignity.

It is not 'irrational' for me as a rape survivor to not want a male in the ladies or exposing his penis to me in the change room.

ThatBlackCat · 29/08/2025 05:53

Sammybabes16 · 28/08/2025 15:35

Why is the definition orca woman so important to you? To different people it has different meanings. In Norway and most Scandinavian countries we may have a different viewpoint to TERFs.

I cannot understand your obsession with this point. As a feminist I’m more concerned about women’s rights. In Norway it’s excellent.

You're not a feminist at all. A feminist centres the rights of the female sex to have safe spaces away from males, however they identify. You want RAPE SURVIVORS LIKE ME to have a male undress and expose their penis to me, just because they wear a dress! You want me to have no female only safe single sex spaces. You are no feminist, you're a meninist, a mens rights activist.

Mate? Di you call every woman who disagrees with you ‘mate’? This is a typical response from your group and why I left last time. The GC cult doesn’t seem to tolerate any views that differentiate from their own narrow viewpoint. Bless ❤️

Are you aware of trans rights in most western democracies? Or are you just focussed on your small group?

Please don’t lecture me on feminism. You don’t seem to have any idea of what it means in most countries in the western world.

You need to QUOTE to reply. Otherwise no one knows who you are replying to.

A 'mate' is a standard greeting in the UK. Also in Australia and New Zealand.

ThatBlackCat · 29/08/2025 05:58

Sammybabes16 · 28/08/2025 15:39

A small minority were. As we live in a democracy sometimes you have to accept what the majority agree with / not a fringe group of angry people.

The kkk dint agree with black men being in America. You always get small groups who are against others

The majority of society agree with female only single sex spaces.

So you agree to go along with the majority then, and not your tiny minority fringe group.
