GLP are going after Sarah Philmore and are going to lose

Get the popcorn folks. GLP is getting ready to lose again.

They are going after barrister Sarah Phillimore for referring to a man as a man. They think they are going to lawfare her into silence.

Her blog:

Here we are now: Entertain us
I have had now 7 years and counting of the various tactics used to 'silence' those who won't comply with prevailing orthodoxy. How are those tactics holding up?
https://sarahphillimore.substack.com/p/here-we-are-now-entertain-us?

The only thing is other TAs have already tried this on Phillimore multiple times. They went to the Bar Council their claims were dismissed. They all failed. More to the point this ‘Kate’ is the same guy complaining again who already failed. Sarah Phillimore knows the law and likes explaining it to TAs and making them lose. So she doesn't even resent the attempt.

As Sarah has stated "They pick on someone who not only enjoys this but has now a vast repository of knowledge about the law in this area."

Sarah Phillimore

Because I don’t tweet as a public body, an employer or provider of goods or services. I am not subject to the Equality Act. I tweet as a private individual and I will say again. You can’t change sex. A man cannot be a woman. I cannot be compelled to call a man a woman.

A trans identifying man such as ‘Kate’ who frequently takes to the public stage to urge violence against women and declare his intent to enter women’s spaces, is a dangerous man and one who will attract public comment.

Outstanding.

If i wanted to be seen as reputable, speaking truth to power blah blah blah. I would not have picked Sophie Molly as the transwomen to risk my organisations reputation on.

Maugham has lost all sense of reason and it's been bizarre to watch. From his contributing to the labour all womens shortlist JR from way back when to this.

Utterly gobsmacked that Maugham has chosen to team up with Molly. Its certainly bold!

Mollyollydolly · 29/08/2025 20:18

We could even enjoy the prospect of his polycule partners photo, dilating in a disabled toilet at the airport. There truly isn't enough popcorn.
And if Jolyon had even a single thought for this person's mental health they wouldn't be encouraging this they'd be helping them get mental health support. This can only end badly.

Things wot I have learnt already this evening:

What the teeth of crabeater seals look like. Extraordinary. Thank you,@lcakethereforeIam

That Jolyon Maugham really does need to calm down. @DrudgeJedd - he's missing half the rules of English grammar, as well as the "allegedly"s in those tweets. Although he might not have meant the reading of his claimant as "a trans woman so wicked". 🙂

That JKR is brilliant. A proxy war with the GLP via Mr Seal - @DrudgeJedd is right, there's not enough popcorn in the world.

I already knew "benthic" [preens].

And how can he be a journalist when he can barely string two coherent sentences together?

This is a very good question. I tried to watch the YouTube channel he runs with the aforementioned polycule member and I couldn’t manage more than a couple of minutes. There was maybe a point going to be made but I couldn’t face 15 minutes of waffle and inane giggling. I know TRAs are generally not the brightest but this was something else.

He doesn't seem to have much else. And as SP says in her substack, GLP have raised all that money from the transes and now have to find a way to spend it, because there aren't any realistic "big wins" to be had.

SinnerBoy · 29/08/2025 20:27

Blimey, it certainly looks like Jolly Old has crossed the line from fucking irritating to libellous. I hope Sarah gets a good few quid out of the moon howler.

JKR joined the chat 😁 The money is there...

Yeah, can't argue with that!

Match made in heaven.

Molly is a peaking machine, combined with Maugham they can't go wrong the second this gets more than twitter publicity.

A very interesting insight into GLPs money and legal antics, in case people have missed it...

That whole post is genius. Explains so much that needs explaining.

I felt like Alice down the rabbit hole reading it 😯. Then a massive, 'ooooh, of course!'. 😏

But I thought they just wanted to pee. Seems not.

I've just been trying to explain this to my husband, who is a courteous bloke so doesn't understand why they want to use women's facilities now they've been told they legally can't (and never should have either).

Can you explain it to me too, I don't understand it either....

Basically they're the kind of men who don't respect boundaries, when it's them who are being told what the boundaries are, and have no respect for the sex to which they aspire.
They say they feel like they're women, because they don't have any typical male traits, while showing us they have the worst of male traits.
There also the possibility that they're egging us on to report them, so they can cry "I'm a victim, look at the nasty women".

deadpan · 29/08/2025 21:58

And here he is, proving my point for me. Chatting to women and taking pictures, being superficially "female" in the ladies is all he understands because he has no empathy or a shred of understanding for or about womanhood, especially when one has to rinse her knickers in the sink because she's flooded herself

That’s a, quite frankly, marvellous summary of the current state of things.

Happy to report I will be making application to the JKR fund to pursue action in defamation against Jolyon Maugham.

Do they need help with publicity? Can we pull any favours in?

ArabellaScott · 29/08/2025 22:28

Surely it's something the Guardian will relish sharing. Photoshoot with the polycule, perhaps?
