Trans people aren't born in the wrong body any more than someone with anorexia is. It is just another form of body dysmorphia.

Did you just use the idea of a woman looking like a man as an insult? Did that come across as supportive to transwomen in your head?

Shortshriftandlethal · 01/07/2025 13:30

I guess lots of effing and blinding makes you apear edgy or radical in her mind.

What a deeply unpleasant and intemperate person.

The hot weather, perhaps? Makes everyone tetchy, poor dear.

Absolutely agree

They remind me of women particularly in the 90's (I am sure not the only decade) who liked to state they were not feminists and can be just as bad as the boys 🙄

Again an era of men controlling the narrative and being a lad (celebration of young men being boisterous and treating women poorly) or ladette (acting just like the lads which really suited, yes you have guessed it men) was highly fashionable

Direct correlation between the friends who 15-20 years ago said things like "I don't need feminism because I've never experienced sexism" and the friends who are "be kind" now.

Disappointing because most of them seemed to have an actual feminist awakening in the 2010s and realised that, no shit, they had experienced sexism.

Haulage · 01/07/2025 13:50

I wonder if they’re in a state of denial about it? Trying really really hard to pretend the don’t see the sexism and gynophobia in front of their eyes because, let’s face it, it’s an uncomfortable thing to acknowledge.

teawamutu · 01/07/2025 13:51

I'm still not clear on why she thinks music execs are afraid of her.

She used to have a record deal. May still, as far as I know but hasn't troubled the charts in many years.

Her tours lose money, to the extent that she sells pictures of her bum to fund them.

She sounds like she's a complete PITA to deal with, all delusions of relevance and muh artistic integrity.

What are they scared of? What am I missing?

Haulage · 01/07/2025 13:51

Although, for me, it was a case of being unable to unsee it once I saw it.

Shortshriftandlethal · 01/07/2025 13:54

She's 37...I assumed she was in her 20s.

Have to say i've always seen political activism as about being the change you want to see; being brave but also also being responsibility for your your own behaviour; having integrity, but also acting like a decent human being.

As the supposed leftist radicals of today rapidly lose their minds, and now seem to glorify in foul mouthed and violent rhetoric - I can't say that the sort of society they might hope to create would likely hold out much hope for the better world they talk so much about.

She probably interprets their reluctance and repulsion as fear.

Who wants to associate with a self congratulating, foul mouthed, gobby cow?

Waitingfordoggo · 01/07/2025 15:09

I’ve just seen an article about her on FB. 90% of the comments say ‘Who?’

So I’m guessing that music execs aren’t actually scared of Nash but just don’t want to back someone who isn’t going to make them any money because no one knows or cares about her work 😂

That does make sense.

So scared of losing money on her, basically.

I can't remember which songs she had, and she seemed to float out of relevance some time ago anyway.

I'm sure. It's also a very strange position to be in isn't it once your eyes are open because our own fathers, sons, brothers, lovers all benefit from our exploitation. And the desire to deny uncomfortable realities or push things away as "other people problems" is very human, especially if you are doing relatively well within the systems, you have to create the mental buffer for why it won't 'be you'.

Laying into music bosses next - and Denise Welch, who was at the festival supporting her son Matty Healy's band The 1975 - Kate continued: "The music industry doesn't know what to do with me. They tried to get rid of me, but they didn't. There is a record executive sweating their t* off with Matt Healy's mum.

"They're scared of me. I like that. But I was made of mother f Bricks. But they didn’t believe me. I even gave them a second warning a few years later when I told them 'Do not underestimate the girl'. Is it my fault they didn’t believe me?

"I’m not going to give my third warning. It’s too late for that. I’m taking my bricks and I’m throwing them through the f window.”

There is the usual stuff about JKR but could not help laughing at the idea of Denise Welch being out to get her

🤡 she really is good value.

I am a tad disappointed that there has been no response from Denise

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/07/2025 08:51

What is her beef with Denise Welch anyway?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/07/2025 08:52

It’s not clear from that incoherent nonsense she’s spouting.
