Guess the dicks have figured out which biological sex that makes most household shopping decisions.

Never used Ocado and glad I haven’t. But I notice a few pp’s have mentioned Lloyd’s upthread. I’m not up to date on their stance since the SC ruling - would anyone mind giving me a quick summary pls? I’m a long-standing customer of theirs and am very willing to take my lady money elsewhere if they think they can ignore the judgement.

Lloyds have pledged solitarily with its trans staff during “this tough time”. I noted they do not pledge the same for their female staff.

I have literally just opened a Lloyds credit card account this week I’m going to bin in favour of my other option.

Yes literally not one fuck given about the Women they employee or their customers.

Ocado have not just acted like so many other companies though.

They actually pulled out of an advertising agreement with MN over this issue. That is not the same at all as merely being careful and fearful with their tweets or online presence, it was actively accusing MN of 'hateful political views'.

I have cancelled my membership and I have been with them for over 15 years. I am furious with them.

@Serencwtch love your user name!

This was in 2010. Maybe it was a small Waitrose? Would they have had Ocado products?

I feel like I have created my very own Mandela effect here!
( Something that I am absolutely convinced happened but can't be true 😂).

Maybe it was just Jesus in the Cabbage Van.

Is there a thread for approved GC suppliers?

Ages ago I started a thread to list all those companies using the word Woman where others feared to. Not supermarkets though.

BlakeCarrington · 19/04/2025 11:12

Thanks for the info on Lloyd’s @senua and @Mirabai. I’ve banked with them for 35 years. No more, who the hell do they think they are. This woman will be taking her business elsewhere on Tuesday, they can get in the bin. I will certainly tell them why.

Next question, can anyone recommend any alternative UK banks that aren’t misogynistic arseholes? Barclays clearly not an option!

Ooh can you post it here please? Or bump on the main board?

dapsnotplimsolls · 19/04/2025 12:03

The apology was just mentioned on the news on R2!!

Testingmypatience1 · 19/04/2025 12:23

I think they have noted the downward spike and cancellations.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer organisation.
Who looks hateful now?
Will never order from them again

Have not noticed any issues with Nationwide, and they used to have an offer of £100 to swap current accounts, not sure if it's still the case.

I'll try to find it!

I'm glad Ocado have apologised but won't shop with them again until I see them reinstating the planned partnership with Mumsnet. Deeds, as well as words, are required.

They're doing better than a bunch of organisations who have either doubled down or stayed mysteriously silent though. Kudos to them for actually apologising.

I've seen the tweet at the start of this thread that blamed the contractor.
I wouldn't class that as an "apology" myself - more "the big laddie did it an' ran away".
R4 noon news said they had "apologied unreservedly" to mumsnet, but I can't see that anywhere else.
Can anyone help locate this please?

Second part of the contractor tweet and quoted upthread.

Thank you - it's not a follow up.
Rather like when someone says "I'm sorry - but ...." one rather forgets whatever comes after the but as it is an excuse. I will hold out for something much more substantial than this.

They are blaming some temporary long-departed staffer for making their original decision to drop Mumsnet!😡

It's a delivery service. They don't have shops. Just warehouses.

Good I am not going bonkers, so the poster couldn't have been in one then!

I think Ocado has agreed some wording which they are trotting out to everyone who asks them about this, eg see page 1 of this thread (Daily Mail story) and the MSN/Evening Standard piece below.

Mentioned on the news at 1 today

NoFineBalance · 19/04/2025 14:37

Is Justine going to apologise to mumsnetters for banning posters like LangCleg and Posie Parker (Kelly Jay Keen)? For splintering the FWR board to appease feminists who don't understand what a woman is? For introducing talk guidelines for this board that had women twisting themselves into pretzels to have a discussion without being banned?
