Welcome all. Can the gerbils please ensure that all the Tunnocks products are safely stowed in the capacious larder, and perhaps the quokkas could be responsible for counting everyone onto the bus and back off at the new thread - many thanks!

Maybe some binoculars too?

Boiledbeetle · 15/03/2025 16:16

EdithStourton · 15/03/2025 16:07

We need ladders for those high shelves. Unless the gerbils can climb up and lob things down to us on request.

Are those pots full of interesting teas or, er, other interesting leaves?

It's not tea.

And for once AI does a fairly decent impression of me right now!!

I just love the consistent willingness of our lovely gerbils… 🥰

That is my perfect library, @Boiledbeetle!

You seem to have acquired some green tribbles, Boily. I'm assuming that's what they are, anyway.

looks like sinsemilla to me.

i only know about this because i had training on unlawful drugs…. But not saying by whom….

JanesLittleGirl · 15/03/2025 16:42

@Boiledbeetle if you smoke that "herbal" cigarette without opening the windows, the gerbils will be too stoned to climb the ladders

ErrolTheDragon · 15/03/2025 17:06

Boiledbeetle · 15/03/2025 16:12

I've selected some of the gerbils who can read and they are currently in librarian training.

Um… how big are those books? I don’t think even with my reading glasses on I can read gerbil-scaled ones.
And please someone rescue the poor mite entangled in the balcony railingsShock

Definitely tribbles!

Honest!

I wouldn't know anything about sinsemilla.

Shit! I've only experimented on cats so far! I'll have to order some extraction fans or the poor little sods will be spending much time in A and E!

Agreed.
And a nice old-fashioned card-index system.

They're doing BTEC level one currently, so easing them in gently. Give me a week with them and they'll be on human size books or have learnt how to magic them down from the high shelves.

God knows how, but she entangled herself in the railings I've sent a message for the seagulls to attempt a rescue.

It's alright, Errol, she was just using herself as a sort of feather duster. She says it's very much quicker and easier, and she pops outside for a quick shake-off afterwards.

She has also dreamt up a mobile hydraulic system to get the bigger books down to ground level with damaging any gerbils on the way - she's sent the blueprints off to the workshop.

And now, plz, she would like some of whatever Boily is smoking as a reward for her good work.

EdithStourton · 15/03/2025 17:46

DD has just asked me what I'm laughing at.

Er, just s'thing on MN, that's all...

(The idea of stoned gerbils, actually.)

And finally we discover exactly why the gerbils always seem a bit spaced out!

I think the 'poor trapped in the railings' gerbil is just slender, lissom, and with an evil sense of humour. Ignore her and she'll scamper down fast enough at supper time.

Boiledbeetle · 15/03/2025 17:52

It turns out they are running a small business from one of the abandoned green houses. They aren't making much profit apparently.

Can't think why?!?

So, the Bluestocking is harbouring an entire colony of dope-addled gerbils.

Or, as they will no doubt spell it as they stumble back to the library, gebrils.

I need to get to grips with AI.

I need my own little dope-addled gerbil pic to put on my desk.

Aren't we all slender and lissom in the Bluestocking?

Well, I'm a cake. Can cakes be slender and lissom?
