Welcome all. Can the gerbils please ensure that all the Tunnocks products are safely stowed in the capacious larder, and perhaps the quokkas could be responsible for counting everyone onto the bus and back off at the new thread - many thanks!

I went to Waitrose yesterday and popped into FarmFoods on the way back to have a nosey. How delighted was I to find Tunnocks varieties I've never come across before. Saved me a trip to Scotland 😋

Edit- I was so dazzled I forgot the snowballs

Would that be the cream-topped hot chocolate bath, or the quadruple gin?

I had a feeling I'd get mugged.

Looking at this BBC News segment, should we invite the otters to join the quokkas and gerbils?

An otter, in a kitchen, poised to jump from a chair onto a counter

Uninvited otter wreaks havoc in family kitchen

A family was surprised by the uninvited guest who wreaked havoc in their kitchen in Shetland.

Poor thing he was just trying to get away from the humans.

Would you like the gin as you lounge in the bath?

(I can recommend gin whilst bathing.)

AsWithGlad · 14/03/2025 19:00

Possible trigger warning: sadnesses

I thought drinking gin in a hot bath was a remedy against buns in ovens.

Although I’ve no idea why it should work. It would be mean if it just hurt the bun but left it where it was.

I need Marie (or anyone from Pedantry Corner) to tell me if it should be 'wreaked' or 'wrought'.

Damn you, pre-diabetes!

DH wants to know if you can get a deep-fried Tunnocks.

Hello. I went to the previous Bluestocking and found it locked up with some dodgy looking articles peering out of the windows. Fortunately I was able to follow a trail of Tunnock wrappers to the new thread. From which I deduce that Beetle is back.

I've been out today. I think I've caught the sun 🌞

Bath first, I think, please.

'some dodgy looking articles peering out of the windows'

Oi, that's no way to talk about my ex-inlaws!

They send their regards! Along with mutterings about why they weren't invited to the wedding and no wonder we're divorced as you're too good for me apparently!

Swashbuckled · 14/03/2025 19:45

Glad I found you!

A large gin and tonic, please. I’ve just had dinner so too stuffed for nibbles just yet.

Putting my feet up by the fire. (Actually, given the Spring title, but also taking into account the magic of The Blue Stocking, can we have a roaring fire that generates just the right level of heat required for the season? I’m thinking ahead to Summer too, because I do love the glow of a real fire…)

Aw, sweetheart! I can see why you locked them in there now. What I don't understand is why you let them into the Bluey in the first place.

Our wedding was the better for not having them in it. Think how much shorter our marriage would've been if they HAD been invited!

It would be useful if we could manage a cold fire in the middle of summer, as air conditioning.
