nauticant · 07/02/2025 12:34

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on 6 February.

Access to view the hearing remotely can be obtained by sending an email request to [email protected] headed Public Access Request (Peggie v Fife Health Board) 4104864/2024 and requesting access.

That's what i thought. But i thought i was maybe over simplifying it?

It would be a massive pain in the arse, and would ruin everyone's weekends, but it's doable.

I'm not sure it would be so much work. I think they've already done it, found some damning stuff so just didn't submit. So the work may have already been done.

CriticalCondition · 07/02/2025 14:59

Judge is thinking old school and saying manuscript notes are also caught by the order.

ArabellaScott · 07/02/2025 14:59

Judge - Monday at 10? or do we need more time?

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 07/02/2025 14:59

I think if they continue without another search, it could only be concluded that there were documents that have been deliberately not disclosed.

I cannot believe that they would have all these investigations and discussions without documenting it, how would they remember what is said and by whom. If only to protect yourself.

And i thought DU was Dr Contemporaneous Note Taker.

MJHereWeGo · 07/02/2025 14:59

Was Kate Searle's email ever discussed in detail this week ?

ArabellaScott · 07/02/2025 15:00

NC - let's crack on on Monday

Boiledbeetle · 07/02/2025 15:00

Judge

Back on Monday at 10am.

Dr Contemporaneous Unreliable Note Taker.

There's an acronym for that.

PoshCoffee · 07/02/2025 15:01

Wow. What a day. See you all Monday, prompt and with appropriate snacks and support animals.

GrumpyMenopausalWombWielder · 07/02/2025 15:01

Do we need to ask for access each day, or is the email I have for today valid for Monday? Just need to get my ducks in a row. I'm not missing Monday's hearing for anything.

EasternStandard · 07/02/2025 15:01

These threads are great. Back Monday

HalfWomanHalfHobnob · 07/02/2025 15:01

Well I got in for the last five minutes! Impressive response time from the clerk. Let's see where we end up on Monday at 10am...

I don't think so. Is Kate Searle the consultant DrU spoke to and who encouraged him to make the complaint?

Boiledbeetle · 07/02/2025 15:01

I need a nap now!

It's the same link each day. See you on Monday!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/02/2025 15:02

Same link and pin

RethinkingLife · 07/02/2025 15:02

I had set aside Monday because I have a full-on 2 day event for which I need to revise and refresh my notes.

I feel a background remote participation request coming on…

HornyHornersPinkyWinky · 07/02/2025 15:03

I'm working on Monday, waaaah 😫

I've been in NHS meetings where nothing was documented...

(I'm not suggesting this has happened here)

Edited

That's awful - did you challenge it? Presumably you kept your own notes of what happened?

FannyCann · 07/02/2025 15:04

Oh Noooos
All packing up for the weekend.
Well at least I've had a view of the supporter chairs aligned behind DU's chair.
It looks very cramped and ridiculously excessive. I can't believe there isn't a limit on the numbers. 1 plus a support dog 🐶 should be quite enough for anyone surely.
I can't understand why the court should be so indulgent around this.

StellaAndCrow · 07/02/2025 15:05

Surely what Mr Peggie has forwarded on Facebook is more important than all this legal disclosure and investigation stuff?! JR spent ages on that!

FebruaryCrow · 07/02/2025 15:05

LondonLawyer · 07/02/2025 14:52

Well, it is an adversarial system. But it's more common for barristers to refer to each other as "my learned friend" than either, or if there are more than two, "my learned friend for the Crown / First Defendant / whatever". "Oppo" is more usually used to refer to the barrister on the other side outside court IME.

I've used 'oppo' a lot in professional life to mean (as I believe is correct!) 'opposite number / colleague / friend'.

On only one occasion has somebody mistaken it as meaning 'opponent', which slightly flummoxed me.

I can't quite believe JR would really think 'oppo' is actually short for 'opponent' - or is it one of her 'Forshatter' tactics?
