NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board - thread #2

1000 replies

nauticant · 04/02/2025 11:37

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

Sorry, what's Nitter?!

It is like Twitter (X). However you can see the posts without being a member.

I think that the Darlington nurses are in a better position because a group of them have come together to support one another. It's much harder to dismiss their concerns.

Yes JR keeps harping on that no one else has formally complained. Funny that! The point of putting SP under suspension for aeons without even asking her side of the story is clearly meant to intimidate female staff imo. Who would want to be in her shoes?

Yes JR keeps harping on that no one else has formally complained.

But others have formally complained - the Darlington nurses for starters. This is about men in the changing rooms - not just this man.

You are kidding. I studied A Level history and I've always remembered that the largest professional group of people in Germany to support the Nazi eugenics programme were Drs. More Drs supported Nazi eugenics than any other social/professional group.

Obviously not all Drs are crazed eugenicists (or supporting of trans ideology) and in no way am I trying to insinuate they are. But just because someone is a Dr doesn't mean they are a) not a nutter, b) automatically a good person.

But I wasn’t saying that doctors can’t be nutters or evil, just that one might think that the attributes that get people into medical school should, in an ideal world, be protective against ideologies such as genderism.

"Christofascists" well isn't that lovely.

Cailleach1 · 04/02/2025 19:42

I’m reading that Nitter thread. Victoria Hospital Fife have been despicable in how they enable, and enforce the abusive conditions Sandie Peggie and other female nurses have to work under. I presume the female employees are still exposed to these abusive conditions. Then to harass her further when she stood up for herself against the abuse they were party to, through an expensive barrister who would try to publicly tarnish and humiliate her.

Then it hit me that this misogynistic abuse is being carried out by many, if not most, public and private organisations around the whole world now. Those where even more abusive things aren’t being carried out against women and girls. It is quite depressing. But then I looked at the nitter posts, and felt the solidarity and sisterhood of a probably global monstrous regiment of women.

Cailleach1 · 04/02/2025 19:46

And the cowards wanted the case which would expose how they enable the abusive conditions which they make their female staff work under, to be hidden from the public and take place in the shadows.

For those not on Twitter, copy the Twitter link, remove the x.com and replace it with nitter.poast.org/

It mirrors the site, and you get to see what everyone is talking about

All of the BBC headlines are implying that Sandie Peggie is a transphobic extremist. Seriously, what has gone wrong at the BBC?

If she didn't have a lesbian daughter they would be calling her homophobic as well

Same with at least one Sky headline.

They are arguing amongst themselves now as to Isla Brysons transwoman status versus male rapist taking the piss status.

Such fun!!

I’m sure that won’t stop them. Is she hateful for not wanting to be subjected to him stripping off in front of her, and having to remain in a state of undress if he enters the single sex female changing room?

Oh, and then making sure he can see her distress at the feeling of intimidation and the embarrassment she is being subject to by dutifully making eye contact.

Not super relevant to the case, but the tribunal is about a hospital in Fife, it's being managed by the Edinburgh employment tribunal (Lothian) in a court in Dundee (Tayside) whose heating is controlled from Glasgow (Greater Glasgow and Clyde)? What is this nonsense?

I work in courts for one of my roles and, honestly, this is all entirely normal. I'm always slightly astonished if the toilets actually flush reliably. There are also usually protective signs over the biscuits ("Not for magistrates!").

I've also been told by several judges, apparently entirely seriously, how superior the judiciary's IT systems are over teams.

Edited

The BMI are well and truly genderwang extremists.

Who ever would have thought it. Biology and stuff.

I'm completely baffled at some of the issues being raised as relevant - what have her views on Trump got to do with it? unless they think there’s a chance she might try to grab the Dr by the pu$$y?

I thought the BBC managed to give balanced coverage. And this comment was interesting: https://x.com/JournalismSEEN/status/1886534291649171533

Excellent. Just goes to show how impossible it is to pander to pronouns when your head knows it's a lie.

I really hate how subservient women are expected to be.

It's a fact though. We've been socialised from birth to be that way. Every woman I know either is subservient, or has worked bloody hard to overcome the natural instinct to put everyone else's happiness and feelings in front of her own. It doesn't come naturally to women to make others feel uncomfortable because we've been taught from the moment we could sit upright and grab at a toy to be nice. To me that's a key differentiator between trans "women" and actual women. The trans ones are quite comfortable claiming their rights because as men that's what they are used to doing.

The truth does have a habit of slipping out.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/02/2025 20:47

I agree, but when women step out of this bekind training and reject the idea that our feelings matter less, like Sandie Peggie, and lots of women who have suffered due to this male sense of entitlement, we are punished.
