The Blue Stockings Society was founded by women emphasising education and mutual cooperation. Men could attend as invited guests, but in this Women's Pub, they are only welcome to peer enviously through the windows.

Don't mind the gerbils, hamster, capybaras, quokkas and other assorted rodents. They're all female, all staff and very accommodating...

Three pages already?! I only boiled the kettle for a cup of tea ... I might have forgotten I boiled it, but even so!

I wouldn't say no to a tunnocks tea cake or two, Boily, while you're down there squirrelling away boxes in the cellar hoping no one's noticed!

But you can of course have tea if you prefer it, I like a bedtime decaf.

Why is Doctor Beetle wearing a shirt and tie? A nod to the Girton Bluestockings?

(I have helped with costumes for two productions of Blue Stockings: I wasn’t in charge and was the only person involved in both productions. The women students wore shirts/blouses with ties, and long skirts.
I have no idea if those costumes were accurate, but it’s either that or doctors have to be male which we know is not the case.)

I strongly object to the constant maligning of my character.

I have never had and I most certainly do not currently have a stash of Tunnocks stashed away in the cellar. Or under the stairs (all of them), or hidden in the gerbils bedrooms under the beds, or behind the bar, or indeed in the wardrobe in room 657. Or anywhere else.

Um... I don't know what that is but I think I'll just join the over-tired gerbils in having an early night, it's been a tough day. I mean in real life, not in the Bluestocking, but of course moving house is one of the three most stressful things in life!
