Thank you for the foot-warming gerbils, @MyrtleLion! Toasty warm.
I do wear slippers all day, in the winter (which, in Scotland, lasts from about the end of July to the end of June the next year) - nice, fleecy warm ones. And I don't go out very often, so bare feet in sandals aren't that much of a problem either.
My sod-the-diabetes day yesterday included a hot cross bun, Lindor truffles, spaghetti carbonara and date sponge with caramel topping - none of it spiked my blood sugar badly, and my blood sugar this morning was 6.2 which is very respectable. It makes no sense to me.
Can I ask that fingers/feelers/pedipalps etc be firmly crossed this afternoon, when Scotland meet Ireland at Murrayfield, please and thank you!
It's all go around here - we want to put a pod point on the front of the house, for charging the car, but our fuse box is slap bang in the centre of the house, in the cupboard under the stairs, and the pod point people have said that we are responsible for making sure the cable is in place, from the fuse box to the front of the house, so all they have to do is nail on the pod point and connect it all up.
Dh has been mulling this over for weeks - he has mapped out the structures under the floor, examined all the possible routes for the cable to take, and this weekend, he has taken up all the laminate and underlay in the hall, so he can see where he can cut a hatch in the floor to feed the cable through. So currently the floor is bare chipboard, with a couple of IKEA rugs on it, and his entertainment for the afternoon is cutting holes in the floor.
Still - it is keeping him out of worse mischief.
