I don't know even what a 'unubicyl' is! But I'm sure I wouldn't be able to ride it. Flags and cakes, yippee!

I think I'm now at the level of having a stash stash😄

More than a century ago some Irish women were discouraged from joining the suffragettes or suffragists because universal suffrage was a core aim of the Irish National movement and their colours were Green White and Orange.

Of course, other Irish women did join them and used the colours Green White and Purple.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when Craft Group was looking at various traditions around St Brigid's Day - one was the Brat Bríde, a piece of cloth left out overnight on January 31st to get darked on imbued with blessings and fortune for the year ahead.

We need some cloth, I said.

I'll get the stash, said our oldest member, who then hauled in a huge bag.

And there, in with all the rest, was the most perfect Green, White, Purple and Orange plaid.

And of course the first woman elected in a UK General Election was Constance Markievicz, one of those nationalists, though she took her seat in Dáil Éireann in Dublin, as her supporters wanted, not in Westminster.

I guess the filters coughed a bit on a range of creatures in schoolgirl uniforms!

I don't suppose many people can ride a unicycle while carrying a flag. Maybe therefore not special enough to require a flag? Though tbh I'd have thought that applied to any type of unicycle riding. Has anyone here tried it, let alone succeeded?

Tbf I can't ride a unicycle with or without a flag so it's not wrong.

I too have a huge fabric stash. As in 5 of those very large plastic boxes with lids full.
