Newly renovated, beautifully appointed. Food and Beverages, excellent (if sometimes unexpected service), delightful clientele, special accommodation for invalids, pedants, readers and normal people.

Fair point. How about 57?

All I can say is thank goodness for the Bluestocking's unreality field, where allergens don't exist!

Can we get one? I want one! I want one! Can we get one? Can we? Can we?

You do realise that you are asking the Bluestocking to accommodate stoats don't you? I agree that they look incredibly cute in their winter camouflage ermine but they are massive slaughterers of any animals whose throats they can sink their teeth into. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-stoat, they do a great job of keeping the local rabbit population down to manageable proportions.

Magpiecomplex · 17/01/2025 22:05

What's the difference between a weasel and a stoat?

Magpiecomplex · 17/01/2025 22:06

A weasel is weaselly recognised but a stoat is stoatally different.

I'm here all weekend folks!

The Bluestocking is so comfortable, but for some reason this customer is having to wait because the gerbil serving staff are hiding behind the bar. She just wants a little glass of sherry (I've been reading the old lady thread - sherry seems to be a secret vice for a few of us).

Visitors this weekend! I must stop scrolling on the internet and get showered!

Is it too early for a quick sherry

They're getting edgy now and taking a look round to check out the cause of the delay. I think Ermine-Trude is getting hungry as well as thirsty. Could some large well-armoured person give them what they want before something dreadful happens to the gerbils. Trudi could be distracted with tribbles. Lots of tribbles.

Inky's AI doesn't seem to know the real difference- apart from size isn't the main visible difference that the very tip of a stoat's tail is black, as is very clear on the bouncy ermine and Lordships gowns?

Should we have some armadillos for this scenario, before Trudi makes a spectacle of herself?

DeanElderberry · 18/01/2025 09:46

Someone with wheelbarrows full of tribbles - armadillos' tendency to roll into a ball when threatened might not be the most helpful. And then there's the leprosy thing.

Could android give us some assistance?

Tbh it's a brave stoat that messes with a dragon .... I expect trudi likes bacon, sausage and eggs?

Magpiecomplex · 18/01/2025 10:01

Taking Boily's name in vain here, but will this suit Ermine-Trude?

Just wondering Magpie .. how does one actually find out that one is allergic to 57 white Arctic ermine??

Thanks for reminding us about the Bluestocking's unreality field where stoat shall lie down with gerbil, etc etc.

And they both get up again, uneaten - just to be clear about that, in case the stoat comes back with 'I lay down with a gerbil like the Good Book said but there was nothing about not eating it heh heh heh, you can't touch me for it😏'

Magpiecomplex · 18/01/2025 10:41

Ah Marie, I could tell you about the ermine, but then I'd have to kill you. 😉

DeanElderberry · 18/01/2025 12:24

By the way, any nay-sayer trying to claim Trudi is really a polecat, she's been identifying as an ermine for 535 (ish) years (hooray Google) and what was good enough for Leonardo is good enough for me.

Does anyone remember an episode of the Goodies, where one of them experimented with armoured animals, having worked out that an armadillo without it's armour is just an Illo? Or am I massively dating myself?

Dating yourself is absolutely fine. We members of the Bluestocking don’t need another person to make us complete.

I don’t remember that programme at all, although Google has results so I’m persuaded it exists outside the Bluestocking’s excellent library of TV programmes which ought to have been made. That must mean I am very much olderer if I’ve forgotten it.

Perhaps I was out on the day it was broadcast, or a similar not quite believable excuse.

DeanElderberry · 18/01/2025 13:23

the Bluestocking’s excellent library of TV programmes which ought to have been made.

aieee!

Does that mean you have seasons 5, 6 and 7 of Enterprise with Shran and Soval on the bridge? And the real final episode of season 4, without dead babies and dead Trip, and decrepit Troi and Riker?

clear the way!

FuzzyPuffling · 18/01/2025 15:03

The Goodies, if I remember correctly, had a giant kitten. Please may we have one of those?

With or without the BT Tower, @FuzzyPuffling?

Oh I think we can release it from the Tower, so it can frolic in the fields.
