I've been moving stuff and taking down curtains ready for DH to rake out and start filling some cracks before we get the dining room painted, I could have done with a team of gerbils.

Hi, ladies & ladies! I've just been supervising a crack (I think that's what they said) team of gerbils building the new woodland sanitorium to this design from the other thread:

I think it should be next to the snug. On the side nearer the toilets, I think. That has a lovely view of the meadow, the woods on the flanks of Peak Woo and the stream. The invalid can shuffle into the snug if they feel strong enough (the dress code is very relaxed, no problem with dressing gown and slippers) or, when the weather improves, they can sit outside. Either out in the sun or under the willow trees by the stream. There are tribbles cushions, steamer chairs, even hammocks. The cats will pop by. They're always happy to curl up with someone who's running a temperature. Obviously, we know several of the quokkas have a copious dressing up box some sort of medical training, the gerbil pharmacy is nearby or you can chew on some willow twigs. I think the hospitality gerbils that work in the snug would be gagging to delighted to stretch their attentive, but discrete, services to a nearby area.

It sounded so nice that I've booked a room there even though I don't feel the slightest bit peaky.

Well I've had a day. Partly eaten by Beetle...again 😠 and I had to finally have the roots of a broken premolar extracted. I'm sat with a numb lip and a mouthful of gauze. I don't know what the massive gap is going to feel like 😫 It's really annoying as otherwise I've got great teeth. I don't even have a filling. Dentist, so far as I know, did a great job. I scarcely felt a thing. Not like the previous one whose cock-up led to all this. Still what's done is done. Bar gerbil, could I have a glass of salty water and a bucket?

That sounds perfect, @ifIwerenotanandroid - especially the steamer chairs - I have always yearned for one of them, so I could bask in the garden, in the sunshine. Of course, I live in Scotland, so basking in the sunshine is a very rare treat! I missed it last year, because I was in the bathroom.

Stay away from hot liquids for the rest of the day. And no sipping cold drinks through straws.

Would you like a gerbil to wheel you to the sanitorium or are you OK to walk, maybe with a gerbil holding your arm? For the gerbils sake obviously! They like to feel useful.

@ifIwerenotanandroid I'm going to take up residence in the sanitarium until the end of grass pollen season if that's ok? Can you ask the gerbils to install a hot chocolate tap and pollen filters please.
