I taught my DH cribbage on our honeymoon last year. He loved it. We bought a cribbage board and we've never played it since.

Apparently his ex's family got very competitive over games and it would become, let's say, contentious. Annoying for me because I love them as they're a great vehicle for a conversation, like driving when you can't look at each other.

And an old friend has a brilliant rule to reduce competitiveness: winner packs the game away.

The good thing is even if they get your drink and food order wrong it tastes exactly like what you actually wanted! It's amazing!

Ah, sherry! sigh, I'm off the gargle until Sunday, but maybe I'll buy some to celebrate the start of Advent. And the end of Bloody November. It's been a horrible day here with fog and road temperatures hovering around 0.

A woman at our craft group has the rule that if you wouldn't notice a mistake when passing by on a galloping horse it doesn't count. The stuff she produces (mostly crochet and quilts) always looks fantastic,

I'm only drinking here. At home it's only on special occasions. Fortunately once the Christmas tree goes up (on Saturday), it's officially Christmas which is a special occasion. 😂🤣

November can be a mixed bag - it was a nice crisp sunny day here, just a tad slippery underfoot in places. February is the month I'd usually prefer to do without.

We don't put our tree up until a week before Christmas and the fairy lights switch on is on Christmas Day!
We've got Advent to do first, which we like to mark as a season all it's own...a season of preparation.

We used to do ours on December 1st for the benefit of DD. I guess we'll do it much closer to when she comes home, probably a little before Xmas.

I really don't want to bother with cards, they seem like a bit of a waste of card and postage but a couple of cousins always get theirs out early and I feel guilted into it instead of sanely finding a nice e-card.

No Christmas tree or decorations in the beetle house!

Tried to include MyrtleStrumpet and WomensSports in the latest Bluestocking group photo but the AI kept wanting to include men and half naked women! AI is a sexiest pig.

All of those are brilliant. I asked for a picture if me as an author. Got this. It's definitely not me, but I'd be happy to know this lady.

I like getting cards, but never open e-cards. I must be very old-school!
