Thank you lovely Bluestockingers. Get that Cosy Corner ready for me....

Chersfrozenface · 09/12/2024 06:59

Hope everything goes well, Fuzzy.

Hot chocolate will be waiting in the cozy corner.

AsWithGlad · 09/12/2024 10:26

Good luck for tomorrow, Fuzzy! Although your vision will be less so, you’ll always be The Bluestocking’s Fuzzy.

Oh, dear. I thought I posted this last night but it’s sitting waiting now I open the right page. Anyway, hope it’s all going well.

I asked the gerbils to make up a Fuzzy-friendly corner for when she gets back. They held a competition to see who could make the best one...

More entries from the competition to make Fuzzy the most welcoming corner. Well done, everygerbil!

AI picturing fuzzy after she gets her new glasses, having a nice relaxing time in cosy corner.

I like the chair with the doggo, but not sure whether Fuzzy would have to squeeze in alongside or sit on top as though trying to hatch an egg.

Yes, I thought he might be something of a hazard after her op, but he's so sweeeeeeeet!

DeanElderberry · 09/12/2024 17:00

I read Ben Pentreath's 'inspiration' blog, and the most recent one includes several armchairs full of doggos (or doggas, they're girls) AND a Tunnocks rich picnic.

I haven't found the Tunnocks yet but I'm already in love.😍

Saw an excellent rainbow today while out walking in Dorset.

I think the very first one is the best - 'first fine careless rapture' and all that.
The branch of what may be a Christmas tree peeping in is a nice touch. The cake looks delish. Everything a post-op Fuzzy could desire.

I'd be very happy to keep the seat warm until she's back, and of course taste the cake and chocolate to make sure it's up to scratchSmile
The fur throw looks particularly soft and cuddly.... oh no... has anybody seen the chinchillas recently..?!😨

ErrolTheDragon · 09/12/2024 17:10

Colin would like to point out he's the official pub dog (though other nice doggos are allowed, obviously). He's a very good chair companion as he can tuck in neatly beside you or drape across your lap. Doesn't have ridiculous long legs all over the place.

MarieDeGournay · 09/12/2024 17:16

I saw a Colin/Colinette when I was out shopping today. I'm don't think I've seen a dachshund in real life before.
It looked so much like Colin that I said 'Oh sweeeet!' out loud, which got a big smile from its owner.
Very cuteSmile

ifIwerenotanandroid · 09/12/2024 17:30

I make a point of exclaiming, "What a lovely dog!" if anyone stops to talk while walking one - no matter how ugly, disreputable or ridiculous it appears. Everyone thinks their own dog is marvellous & loves to be told so.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/12/2024 17:38

Other people's dogs in general and (being an addict) dachshunds in particular bring me a great deal of pleasure.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 09/12/2024 17:39

@MarieDeGournay Yes, the first one scored highly on colour coordination, elegance & cakes, although points were deducted for the sign pointing the wrong way & the trip hazards on the floor. (And I think that's pampas grass & we all know what that implies.)

No need to invade Fuzzy's corner, there are plenty of corners to go round & so I've asked the gerbils to prepare one for you.

How can we thank the gerbils for making such beautiful cosy corners? It's not even for me, but they've obviously been very thoughtful. We are so lucky to have such wonderful gerbil staff!

MarieDeGournay · 09/12/2024 17:44

Thank you, nice bit of conflict resolution there - you can each have your own Cosy CornerGrin
Gosh don't I look serene!

ifIwerenotanandroid · 09/12/2024 17:47

@MarieDeGournay Who would not be serene, having just caught sight of that plate of cakes, knowing they're all yours?

ifIwerenotanandroid · 09/12/2024 17:48

@MyrtleStrumpet Of course there's a corner for you.

Gerbil treat recipe | The Gerbil Forum

One of the ingredients is 'gerbil food', which is a bit weird, I mean the recipe is to make gerbil food and to do so you need to add gerbil food? ... the culinary equivalent of an Escher drawing??

There's one near us with its back end on wheels. I know this makes me a horrible person (I have been informed so by one of my students) but I can't help giggling slightly at the little trundly dog. It's so cute!
