Even allowing for the time difference that's pretty impressive Alison! Glad you're feeling better.

I visited another drinking establishment yesterday. Gender neutral toilets. A row of cubicles and sinks. Like being in the Ladies but men being allowed in. I was amazed at my nervousness.

Anyway this establishment was serving snakebite and black, with a purple S drawn on the head of the pint. I had thought pubs don't serve snakebite any more because it gets people nasty drunk.

I have gardening clogs by front and back doors, and also crocs/fake crocs by each. Both types have their uses. Crocs are pretty useless for gardening as they're liable to end up with mud/compost and water in through the holes, and thorns can penetrate the soles. I learned that the hard way when loading pyracantha clippings into the car for disposal.Hmm

I'm busy procrastinating at the moment, half listening to Gardeners Question Time while trying to motivate myself to either do something in the garden, tackle the ironing or else some house cleaning. (We went out to The Duck Place this morning so I'm not being a total potato). DD told us yesterday she's bringing her bf for part of her Yuletide visit (xmas at his parents, here after that and over the new year which includes my birthday) so that's nice but means I probably need to do a bit more tidying and cleaning than I might otherwise have bothered with.

I won't hear a word spoken against shrews. Hundreds of them have given up their lives this year to ensure that our families of weasels have been able to rear their young.

Ah yes, the bucolic lifestyle we all aspire to

More exposure to AI images and words is going to make life harder for humans, isn't it.

It does feel quite risky, even skimming the surface of AI. It has insidiously penetrated many aspects of IT. Google a question, you get an AI response, with a disclaimer that AI is experimental.

I like to imagine that here at the Bluestocking, we are doing our bit to undermine and subversively infiltrate AI with our terfy feminist woman-centric ideas, creating stuff that we can poke fun at, enjoying laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. We haven't forgotten that it is a horrible weapon that's going to be used against us. We are just doing our bit to disarm it.

Speaking of which, the Sunday afternoon dance classes seem to involve a spot of impromptu genetic experimentation.

I willingly accept and admit that I have a Crocs obsession.

Dear Boily, in the dim and distant recesses of my memory I seem to recall that you have a crocs stadium cushion ... now THAT would be something I'd like. But they don't make them any more of course. No demand innit

That looks like a male werewolf.

You've got some serious moves, Inky, looking very impressive!

FuzzyPuffling · 08/12/2024 20:14

Just doing a temporary sign off as eye 2 is being done tomorrow and reading might be even harder for a while!
Laterrrrrrs!

lcakethereforeIam · 08/12/2024 20:17

Did Fuzzy invite a guillemot? The sparrow penguin hybrid is very cute.

I've just popped out to the meadow, the gerbils on the decorating committee have nearly repaired the storm damage on the Christmas tree. Apparently, the capybara sat the storm out at the top of tree! What a trooper!

Eta All the best @FuzzyPuffling 👍

My mum had hers done a few months ago. Said the weirdest thing was stopping wearing glasses for the first time in her life. I hope your sight is great xx

I'll still be a speccy wearer- more issues than just the cataracts, but the bright vision in the done eye is fab!

You know those adverts that say "whiten your teeth by two shades"? Yep, get your cataracts done!

I've not been well since hugging my neighbour goodbye on friday afternoon. Headaches, the sweats, tonsils up, the full body aching and feverish works.

But I just got up ate a bowl of Frosties honey and peanut cereal [crunchy nut cornflakes in UK], the last 2 cream crackers heavily buttered and demolished half a maxi pack of curry crisps [a new thing over here].

I must be feeling better.

Ah poor sweet child! I was like that from about Wednesday last week til Thursdayish this week! Do you need a hot water bottle?

Why yes, yes I do! As well as a very fetching beach bag! Of course I go to the beach just as often as I go to stadiums!

That came round quick! At least this time round the fear of the unknown can be dispensed with!

Good luck, and we'll see you in the other side! And you can play pirate again for a few days.

Good luck Fuzzy! Having the second one done is so much easier than the first, just from the point of view of worrying about it. Here's to much better eyesight, brighter colours and whiter teeth!

See you when you're back 😊
