I got my free travel card last week and promptly lost it. Went looking today and spotted the envelope shoved under the freezer - I must have been unpacking the shopping when it came. It has been stowed safely in my wallet and I'm now planning a trip to Dublin to see the Turners in January.

I'm one of the truly lucky ones whose parents and ILs didn't develop dementia - by the time MiL's mental faculties declined she was pretty much immobile in a nursing home. So honestly I don't know what it's like but you and your DH have my heartfelt sympathy.

Well, I've just been reading the nuclear war preparations thread, & stocking up seems like a good idea. I didn't stop after lockdown, so we no longer have a spare reception room as it's disappeared under stores of useful things & stuff we never feel like eating but would if there was nothing else.

Still on porch watch between calls from the care provider, she walked off from carer this afternoon but they managed to retrieve her and get her home.

I've been a bit remiss in my terfy tumblers, I've been on cat bowl and plate making duty for my neighbour, so once they are glazed and fired I'll be making more TERFY stuff.

I'm really so sorry Banned and all good people here dealing with dementia sufferers. It's a cruel disease and so exhausting being minders for people.

I used to care for my Nan and we were early twenties then. I thought I was doing well, as she ate all the meals I was cooking for her. Until I found them down the back of the kitchen radiator after investigating the funny smell.

Random jobbies are defo a hazard to contend with. Never go barefoot Wims.xx

Re Whatsapp - I'm with Deano, don't use it either, it's classified in my mind along with Social Media and therefore🚫for me.
But if other Stockingers think it's a good idea, go for it. Just promise not to gossip about us behind our backs
