En franglais, in English .... open to all women for company, fun and fabulous artworks. Leave unwanted reality in the porch and come along in.

I don't think this is much better. Not quite sure which bit of anatomy that's supposed to be...

No wonder Fuzzy's been round the houses if her anatomy looks like that!

FuzzyPuffling · 22/09/2024 13:32

Ha ha ha...I'm loving all your AI pictures. Smug quokka, stern matrons, weird body parts and a plethora of dodgy bonnets! Thank you.

Im bored on a dull, rainy Sunday and, like a cake I crumbled. This thing is addictive. I think I've a long way to go to reach the heights and depths of some of the patrons (...matrons?) of the Bluestocking.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius No2 son is home from the Land of Quokkas
Enjoy your time with your offspring, er.. Woley? if I may call you that without being over-familiar.

Now a confession: my mind hovers between belief and fantasy on this thread - gerbils serving meals, beetles wearing knitted jumpers.... so I never got around to googling 'Quokka' to make sure that it is a real animal.
So when you say 'Land of Quokkas', to me that sounds like 'away with the fairies', which I'm sure is not the case.Hmm
I've just done due diligence and googled Quokkas, so I now know they are from Australia. Isn't it amazing that a landmass that can produce such a baroque array of stingy-bitey-slithery-crawly-poisonous creatures can also produce an animal so kindly- and cute-looking I didn't think it could be real?

So now I know where your son has travelled from. A long long journey for the poor lad, so make sure the gerbils are ready with a Full English for him.
EnjoySmile

Very good first attempt - unless, of course, you asked for 'multicoloured rabbit dancing with a quokka on board the Titanic'.

Which AI are you using?

lcakethereforeIam · 22/09/2024 14:20

Copilot. It wasn't a first attempt Blush but it is in the top ten.

Magpiecomplex · 22/09/2024 15:09

I think you've given the quokkas ideas, Edith.

What's "quokka" in French?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/09/2024 17:00

No2 son has brought TimTams with him - the double chocolate coated ones - so he is currently my favourite.

@FuzzyPuffling - I’m sorry to hear you are poorly - I could dust off my ancient nursing qualifications if necessary (me and Flo Nightingale practically trained together), and lay a cool hand on the fevered brow. Otherwise I’d recommend medicinal chocolate cocktails.

Ah Woley that is lovely that you get to see your DS. Hope you have a fabulous gravy- laden dinner. 😁

I've spent the morning in the emergency Dr's after several interactions with nhs 111 over the past few days. They've been pretty good and have managed to help me swerve A&E. Hurrah! Can you send that nice Nurse Quokka for a bit of care please?

Edited

Oh no!. I shall feed you grapes and play doctor!

Ooh! Have you tried the coffee straw thing mentioned on a previous thread?

Hope he didn't bring any of those creatures who upset JKR:

Downton Abbey Smile GIF

According to M.Google c'est un kangourou à queue courte - short-tailed kangaroo.

On the same page someone asked what animal 'phoque' is, & apparently it's a seal.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/09/2024 17:37

Slightly surprising reaction from the woman who dreamed up Aragog!Grin

That is a crap name. Quokka is soooo much better.

Je ne sais pas, mais en franglais elles sont 'Les quokkas'.

Errol, if our quokkas are all female, does that mean they reproduce by parthenogenesis? We may need some sort of quokka birth control!

There are males too, but in Bluestocking franglais the articles for mixed groups default to the female form rather than the male. That's one of its significant improvements over French.
(Was anyone here not outraged in school French lessons by the idea that one man in a roomful of women would turn elles into ils?)

I've hesitated to mention this, in case it's just some vile quokkaphobic propaganda, but curiosity has got the better of me. With apologies in advance for any offence, is it true that mummy quokkas can jettison their babies from the pouch? Apparently, this'll distract any pursuing predator and slow 'em down as they stop to snack on the startled baby. Also, by lightening her load, mum can travel faster.

Magpiecomplex · 22/09/2024 17:57

Phew! I was envisaging the quokka lifecycle to be similar to that of aphids.

And Bluestocking Franglais does indeed sound considerably more sensible than French. If sometimes a little hard to follow.

Really? I was away that day. Outraged.

DeanElderberry · 22/09/2024 18:07

The quokkas look so sweet it makes me wish I hadn't read that disconcerting marsupial anatomy stuff the other day. Hard to imagine them with double vaginas and bifurcated penises and promiscuous sex lives. It just shows you never really know anyone.

On the bright side, they don't have bony kneecaps. Lucky old them.
