En franglais, in English .... open to all women for company, fun and fabulous artworks. Leave unwanted reality in the porch and come along in.

(Was anyone here not outraged in school French lessons by the idea that one man in a roomful of women would turn elles into ils?)

I can still remember being told this, grrr. That was at an all-girls school, & I also remember the shock & delight when a Maths teacher (a prim & terrifying older woman) one day looked at the Maths textbook she was teaching from & said, "There's an error on this page: it must've been written by a man."😂

The quokkas look so sweet it makes me wish I hadn't read that disconcerting marsupial anatomy stuff the other day. Hard to imagine them with double vaginas and bifurcated penises and promiscuous sex lives. It just shows you never really know anyone.

On the bright side, they don't have bony kneecaps. Lucky old them.

What the what now?

DeanElderberry · 22/09/2024 18:11

quite

lcakethereforeIam · 22/09/2024 17:55

I've hesitated to mention this, in case it's just some vile quokkaphobic propaganda, but curiosity has got the better of me. With apologies in advance for any offence, is it true that mummy quokkas can jettison their babies from the pouch? Apparently, this'll distract any pursuing predator and slow 'em down as they stop to snack on the startled baby. Also, by lightening her load, mum can travel faster.

LaLaLaLaLaLa fingers in ears! Quokkas are CUTE and have the KINDEST EYES and the SOFTEST FUR and can wear a beret with PANACHE and I won't hear a word said against them <runs sobbing from room>😢

ifIwerenotanandroid · 22/09/2024 18:15

Hang on. This says:

'The marsupial female reproductive tract therefore consists of two separate uteri which open into a median vaginal cul-de-sac by way of entirely separate cervical canals (Fig. 3). There are also three vaginas.'

Any advance on three?

ifIwerenotanandroid · 22/09/2024 18:27

Oh my word.

'Many male marsupials have a bifurcated SLANG PINES, the right and left prongs apparently being placed in the corresponding lateral AVALING canals during copulation'

... which is a neat trick if you can do it.

What is this filth you've led me to discover, @DeanElderberry ? And on a Sunday, too!

NB Anagrams used because I just remembered there's a subset of the human population who search on certain words.

I can forgive a lot from anything that can look so good in a beret.

It's probably nonsense spread by jealous cane toads.

DeanElderberry · 22/09/2024 18:32

I wonder are they sitting there looking furry and guileless and thinking to themselves 'those mammals, so anatomically deficient, and the hoomans always banging on about their achey knees, daft design errors all round, wonder is anyquokka up for a bit of whoopsie?'

lcakethereforeIam · 22/09/2024 18:40

@FuzzyPuffling I hope this'll cheer you up. It did me a power of good!

I asked AI to illustrate this, with a quokka throwing all kinds of things out of her pouch like tins of spam & a kitchen sink. I think the AI's been at the gin again. I wouldn't bother you with this one except I soooooo much love the 'tin of sparp'.

It's a poem, actually:

What wall thrown out of wool like she
Baby quokka I us canpa
A tin of sparp ye's aloana
Of parm, saim, a kitchen siink

Lyrical & incomprehensible. Perfect.

Literally got tears in my eyes 🤣 the expression on its face!

I think that wolf is about to trip itself up, so the quokka should be fine.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 22/09/2024 18:48

@lcakethereforeIam thank you for the delightful, beret wearing puffling. I love it!

It's at least in the right region of the body! To be fair beetles struggle with berets, we've not got the right head for them!

I had the same problem with a crown. As @Boiledbeetle said, they're not really designed for headwear.

Has anyone tried AI animation?

Ooh la la, don't we look continental! Although I think you might be a weevil in one of those 🤔

God! The bottom two, I'm either drunk or very upset at the loss of a far flung empire somewhere!
