En franglais, in English .... open to all women for company, fun and fabulous artworks. Leave unwanted reality in the porch and come along in.

@ifIwerenotanandroid Room 11 is just fine. I have erm a swing issue

ifIwerenotanandroid · 20/09/2024 23:18

@Bannedontherun I don't think the Bluestocking has the type of swing you're looking for - not in room 11, anyway. A little exploration of the lesser-known corridors may be in order at this point.😉That, or a trip to the Staunch Ally.

Are you sure she's not hiding nuts for the winter? I saw the start of that thread - did anyone work out what it was??

I've just tried to find it to check but I can't see it! So unless someone else can find it well never know! Last update I saw was the revelation it had come out of her vulva I think.

Dumbo12 · 20/09/2024 22:19

Please may I have a chocolate cocktail? I got stuck in motorway traffic this afternoon and I'm still recovering!

That sounds like a very, very rubbish way of spending any part of a day.
Hope the lie down and copious cocktails helped!

FuzzyPuffling · 21/09/2024 07:26

Oh, and I am delighted to see the successful hatching of the baby seagulls. Welcome chicks! And congratulations Sharon.

EdithStourton · 21/09/2024 07:57

Baby seagulls are bloody noisy. I hope they're nowhere near the bar.

Also, why do we have a unicorn goat? Shouldn't we be selling pix of it to the papers or something?

Boiledbeetle · 21/09/2024 08:00

Morning beautiful people. The kitchen is open

We have a unicorn goat?!?! Why did I not know this?

Boiledbeetle · 21/09/2024 08:06

<abandons breakfast>
<Goes off in search of unicorn goats>

I reckon one of these is pretending to be a unicorn goat. The other though is definitely a bona fide unicorn goat!

Can someone ask a passing gerbil to get me another cup of tea whilst I read the papers

Morning boiled thanks for the laugh.

EdithStourton · 21/09/2024 09:56

An AI pic , P3, in a cute jumper.

I see someone has gone running to the papers.

MarieDeGournay · 21/09/2024 10:54

I didn't realise we had to decamp from The Bluestocking - The Second Leg - doesn't time fly when you're enjoying yourself?
Given AI's casual attitude to the number of limbs, couldn't we have called this
The Third Leg?

To those popping in for the first time - if you're very confused, that's absolutely the only possible reaction to The Bluestocking, where the regulars go off on flights of fancy - often illustrated very cleverly using AI - at the drop of a hat. Or chapeau.
I can't even remember how the Franglais started, give that my username is a 16th-17th century French writer, and I used to live in France and so speak French, it might well be all my fault...

But Franglais isn't obligatoire, please don't let that put you off popping in and letting your imagination flow.

The alcohol does not inebriate and the cakes have neither calories not gluten.
Looking back over all the previous Bluestocking notes, though, I think we have to state MAY CONTAIN NUTSGrin

😂😂

Those baby unicorn goats are beyond cute 😍

MarieDeGournay · 21/09/2024 12:12

There are lots of extremely cute animals, PurpleSparkledPixie , some of them flights of fancy/have funny names/derive from a previous thread. I'm not sure about the origin of all the animals, but I don't care cos they often have such lovely little outfits on and I often find myself dissolving into awwwwwwws💕

But we also love our resident Beetle, so our animals don't have to be fluffy and cute.

Feel free to introduce us to new rare species/favourite source of chocolate/etc.
I haven't been a regular of the Bluestocking for very long, but quickly found a welcome and a place on one of the many comfy sofas, so as ErrolTheDragon said
Leave unwanted reality in the porch and come along in. Smile

DeanElderberry · 21/09/2024 12:24

I've never been able to read Franglais (or understand eggy peggy) so I just drift off while people get it out of their systems.

Boiledbeetle · 21/09/2024 12:27

Don't mind me just passing through to get snacks from the bar. Sorry about the onsey I couldn't be bothered getting dressed.

Oooh - breakfast looks delicious, @Boiledbeetle!

I had the laziest of mornings - dh brought me breakfast in bed, then I fell asleep, sitting up, and didn’t get up until after midday - it was so good.

Waiter! There's a beetle in my full English!

Oh, it's you, Boily.😍

ifIwerenotanandroid · 21/09/2024 14:14

That's what I was hoping for, but I never argue with a dragon. I've found that to be an invaluable rule in life.

EdithStourton · 21/09/2024 15:02

We could call the fourth thread the Third Leg. It would go well with the franglais and the AI-induced hallucinations.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 21/09/2024 15:05

That is an excellent suggestion, Edith.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 21/09/2024 15:13

It's that time on a Saturday afternoon: 'trending' on X lists something that looks interesting, & it turns out to be the name of a racehorse. Today it's Not So Sleepy. Sometimes I get caught out by names like International Incident or Oh My Goodness. (I made those up.)

I still think Gravy Bowser is a fabulous name for a racehorse - or a portly, wheezing dog, especially if he's the correct shade of brown.
