En franglais, in English .... open to all women for company, fun and fabulous artworks. Leave unwanted reality in the porch and come along in.

Cirque du gerbeil. Just don't think too hard (or indeed at all) about the physics of the pictured scene.

Edith was okay, a few of the less dissipated gerbils got up and did their duty by 11.07.

Yeah, but I had to pick two hungover gerbils out of the marmalade jar.

Fortunately most of the sloe gin survived and is now under lock and key. It doesn't take much to waste a gerbil, it turns out. They're only small.

Love the dancing gerbils.

Does anyone want the wood stove in the lounge lit? It's a bit chilly in here...

Magpiecomplex · 29/09/2024 14:16

Yes please Edith! I've got marking to do, and if I'm warm it might reduce the snacking. Not that I can find either a gerbil or a crow to supply snacks. Anyone know where the Tunnocks stash is hidden? I assume it's been put out of the reach of the animals...

I bribed one of the Quokkas to do the waitressing for a bit, promising them a role in the upcoming musical version of Gerselle

Thanks Inky. Now I just need to get Boily to nudge up a bit!

I found a store cupboard, but there are no Tunnocks's's's. How does Inky's AI know what Tunnocks are, but mine doesn't?

That's a beautiful piece of marquetry on those cupboard doors! Assuming what looks like wheels of cheese actually are wheels of cheese, could I have a plate of cheese and crackers please? Magpies cannot live on Tunnocks alone (although I'd be willing to try)

You can have the whole seat for a bit I'm off to do an episode of one beetle and her dog.

@Boiledbeetle Ta. Enjoy! Might need a flat cap to keep your head warm...

Euw, marking.
There are better ways of spending a Sunday afternoon, but a toasty fire (and perhaps a nice glass of wine?) will improve it.

Magpiecomplex · 29/09/2024 15:34

It's not going well Edith. I've returned about half of them for missing one or more key requirements.

I can't do AI. I can only join in in words.

There once was a glorious pub,
Which Tunnocks have filled with good grub,
There's gerbils and quokkas
All off their rockers
It's a marvellous "just women" club.

Dear Lord I can't pop out for a few hours Grin

I think Errol has already answered this one. Japanese crows!

No, I don't recommend them as staff, they're too clever by half. I'm pretty sure that can do that bird thing of sleeping half their brain at a time so goodness knows what they'd be plotting when we're all out for the count. Though I'm sure their collective noun is just down to a nasty rumour.

That ladybird looks a bit menacing.
Does it want to eat me?

You're too big for her mouth. She'll have to stick to aphids.

Just be glad the seagulls have gone, they'd definitely snack on a puffling.

We sometimes do a walk to the site of a Bronze Age circle. It was timber so the post positions are marked with concrete cylinders but it's a lovely spot, its entrance aligning with a dip between the hills which I'm pretty sure is exactly where the sun rises. Once when we went there was a hare there... I've not got a single woo bone in my body but there really is something about hares, it seemed like the spirit of the place.

Have you ever heard Donald Flanders’ monologue about Stonehenge, @ErrolTheDragon?

”We ‘ad a wood ‘enge ’ere once, but it rotted!”

Here.

I was brought up with my dad singing songs by Flanders and Swann, on long car journeys (before the days of car radio - I am that old!

I've just come down from Peak Woo, asked the gerbils for a plate of pikelets to eat by the fire and I've been subjected to entertained by 20 minutes of interpretive dance. I think the pikelets are on their way now though.

Magpiecomplex · 29/09/2024 17:25

If they're doing interpretative dance, please no one mention the word mime to them... 🫣

lcakethereforeIam · 29/09/2024 17:32

I know I shouldn't laugh but just look at what brought my pikelets
