Yep

Mean Girls Rule, OK

UpThePankhurst · 08/07/2024 11:17

So this will be fun.

Everyone got the receipts of Mr Starmer desperately saying 'biological women' and 'spaces' a lot in the last few hours before voting?

Ramblingnamechanger · 08/07/2024 11:18

Unbelievable. This is really taking the piss.

Ramblingnamechanger · 08/07/2024 11:19

What is the current line I wonder?

Imnobody4 · 08/07/2024 11:20

I don't understand this - why is she in Education Dept?
Pretty fed up .

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 08/07/2024 11:21

FFS

PronounssheRa · 08/07/2024 11:21

Oh, FFS

We can only hope the Kemi ends up on the women's and equality committee to hold Dodds to account.

BonfireLady · 08/07/2024 11:22

Yep.

Especially so when it comes to the school to gender clinic pipeline. Note the "for Education" that has been tacked on the end.

No wonder Bridget Phillipson has been so keen to cite the language in the Gender Questioning Children guidance as "partisan".

This critical bit about it being a belief that not everyone holds will undoubtedly go (screenshot).

Once that's gone from the school documentation, it exists nowhere else. And we're back to it being a "fact" again, wherever it appears: law, education, sports etc.

I had previously been hopeful that this wording would start to unlock everything, even though it was in a non-statutory guidance.

FFS. First the Fawcett society, now this.
Yes, Sir Keir, you did indeed end the "culture war".. on day 4. Great work! We're now in the era of the Spanish Inquisition for dissenters of genderist belief. Next come the hate laws.... Can't wait 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Dodds- Minister for Women.
Thelnebriati · 08/07/2024 11:22

You've got to be fucking kidding me.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 08/07/2024 11:23

Lol so she didn’t manage to get out of it - I bet she was desperate to

no one wants this - they know it’s a total hot potato

well AD we’ll be watching very closely…..

FondOfOwls · 08/07/2024 11:24

I have two young DDs, I am also a 100% TERF. I am bloody terrified!

At least I didn't vote Labour, I guess. Not that it will make any difference now :(

Gosh it's almost like they are who they said they are. Whodathunkit?!

Skyellaskerry · 08/07/2024 11:30

They (AD and BP) are going to need watching like hawks, and held to account by opposition MPs, and individuals contacting their own MPs.

Thelnebriati · 08/07/2024 11:30

Cue lots of claims about how they were 'given a mandate'.

Imnobody4 · 08/07/2024 11:30

Am still confused

https://www.gov.uk/government/ministers/minister-for-women-and-equalities--3

States BP is Minister for women and Equalities.

There is another post Minister for Women which is a less senior post. Does anyone know what they're doing?

PaleBlueMoonlight · 08/07/2024 11:41

Or is it joint?!

Imnobody4 · 08/07/2024 11:41

So is Annelise doing both the Junior roles of Women and Equalities or is it a complete cock up. Making a mess of this just confirms how little they care.

Imnobody4 · 08/07/2024 11:44

So it's a job share?!

Rubidium · 08/07/2024 11:45

I think it’s joint between Dodds and Phillipson. Not sure of the significance of the move of the position(s) from the Cabinet Office to Education.

AstonUniversityDataScrapingDepartment · 08/07/2024 11:47

This is thoroughly depressing.

As many have observed here and elsewhere... this issue did not prevent labour from winning a majority - but mainly because the Tories have spent 14 years dragging wrecking balls through public infrastructure. But it may well cost them another term.

My only hope now is the Supreme Court case in autumn/winter, which may force a reckoning. And the many brave women that continue to bring their own cases to tribunal; hopefully there are enough concerned journalists that these cases will get good press exposure. (And we will all keep gardening...)

Datun · 08/07/2024 12:00

The thing is, this ideology IS damaging to women and children.

Gender critical women are right, and TRAs are wrong.

The difference now is that the cat is out of the bag. And people know it. Everyone knows it. The extra mile is that now they feel they can say it. Not everyone, it's true. We've had women in the police saying they daren't open their mouth. Likewise academia.

But journalists can. Interviewers can.

And there are many more women who are putting their heads above the parapet. Court cases, tribunals, women in the NHS, sport.

We are right. Morally and legally.

Every time this ideology impacts women and children in a damaging and negative way, as we know it will, the government will have to answer to it.

Imnobody4 · 08/07/2024 12:04

'I think it’s Philipson with Dodds as under secretary (which would explain why it’s moving to DfE)'

https://twitter.com/mrsSkys/status/1810251982633947336?t=Gdzv7sCbj4HpRNHNje-V_Q&s=19

So it looks like they're not having a Minister for Equalities??

Rubidium · 08/07/2024 12:06

Any word on this from Sex Matters, LGB Alliance yet?

duc748 · 08/07/2024 12:12

I see Angela "Feminists want trans women to show passports at public lavatories" Eagle (and her sister) get Ministerial gigs. Another appalling woman. I suppose the difference is, she's a true believer, whereas Dodds is just... confused?
