New ground eh? 🤨 would that new ground involve handing over women & girls spaces to any man who claims lady feelings by any chance?

I also note Lisa nandy telling the civil servants at DCMS that the “culture wars are over”. I assume because she’s just going to give TRA everything they want in terms of media, culture & sport

And all disabled people get is some words, going by the look of that

UpThePankhurst · 09/07/2024 20:15

Can we get her to inform Russia that the Ukraine war is also over? Any other miracles she could be working?

This hopefully will not be a plan to 'end' it by simply handing women's rights to men and then criminalising women for objecting. Because if so they're going to need much bigger prisons and I suspect JKR will be at the front of the queue.

well of course! They don’t have a nice flag and accommodating ppl with disabilities requires putting in some actual effort & money rather than sticking up a few rainbow flags and adding pronouns

eatfigs · 09/07/2024 20:24

Equality as in "all are equal, but some are more equal than others" from these progressive misogynists and their handmaidens.

They're also not in majority straight, white, male, well educated, affluent, and backed up by highly influential and wealthy backers.

Crikey, not sure why I've been deleted.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 09/07/2024 22:07

The thing is - the press are now onto them. So many labour politicians have made themselves look foolish, economical with the truth and happy to prioritise men's demands over the safety of children and women - even in the last few months.

So the Telegraph are this evening prominently covering Lesbian Labour's criticism of Dodds:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/07/09/anneliese-dodds-lesbian-labour-womens-minister/

It's not going to go away for them.

New women’s minister doesn’t ‘get it’, says Labour lesbian group

Anneliese Dodds told ‘sex needs to be biologically defined’ because ‘sexual orientation is based on biological sex’

Message MNHQ, they deleted me yesterday (a link I posted) but when I asked they said something had gone wrong their end.

JanesLittleGirl · 09/07/2024 22:50

The clear direction of travel will be next month when the statutory version of KCSIE 24 is published. Will it be the same as the 'for information only' version or will the gender downstep be removed?

WarriorN · 10/07/2024 07:00

I can't help wondering if it was agreed as I felt there was a lack of other key aspects that needed to be included.

Sex Matters will probably be congratulating her 😒

What have Sex Matters done wrong, please? Asking as I am a contributor, but personal and health issues mean I have not been paying attention much lately to their emails. Do I need to cancel my direct debit?

More on Nandy

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jul/09/era-of-culture-wars-is-over-pledges-new-culture-secretary-lisa-nandy

all I can say is ‘will you aye!’ what you mean is you’ll expect women to roll over and stop annoyingly talking about their rights and dignity

She might 'identify' has having shut women up / 'ended culture wars' but the reality is going to prove different.

There's something so sneering and superior about reducing people who are feeling disenfranchised and excluded from society as 'culture wars' and it suggests the normal Labour problem of not listening.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/07/2024 09:27

Nandy is a dimwit.

There'll be naff all done for LGB rights,it's all about the T+ for Mokey.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 10/07/2024 10:45

I've been wondering about her and sport. Is she going to tell Rugby that their ban on men playing in women's rugby for safety and fairness must be binned" "I've got a trans constituent so I know all about this" as she often tells us.

Or lecture Swim England about how unfair it was to stop this trans official from making unnecessary trips through the women's changing room while girls were undressing:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12350741/Parents-raised-concerns-transgender-pool-official-using-womens-changing-room-time-young-girls.html

Can't see her getting very far tbh.

Parents' concerns over trans pool official using women's changing room

Anne Coombes, 65, who last week blasted a hotel spa for not giving her a key to a female changing room,  was volunteering as an official at the British Summer Championships in Sheffield.

She's awful. Like so many of them, seems completely captured.

I’m worried that the media is going to get bored of the issue.

Think you're right - BUT - never underestimate the humour factor. It's impossible for politicians to argue for men being in women's showers, changing rooms. hospital wards, sports etc without sounding foolish. ignorant or downright uncaring. Just look at how Lammy's advice that men can grow a cervix follows him round with journalists using it if ever they want to highlight his "stupid" side.

Yes they'll get bored of the "define a woman" question (think most of us are) but will never get bored of politicians wibbling and wobbling as they try to sound coherent with an incoherent script.

RedToothBrush · 10/07/2024 19:24

SmudgeHughes · 10/07/2024 17:59

Don't be stupid! Braverman has already made it clear theres no danger of that.

JanesLittleGirl · 10/07/2024 20:38

SmudgeHughes · 10/07/2024 17:59

I’m worried that the media is going to get bored of the issue.

They will at a theoretical level but they will unable to resist the 'women being forced to strip in front of men' stories.

UpThePankhurst · 10/07/2024 21:14

There will be non stop fuel. The next Isla Bryson/Katie Dolotowski/Karen White et al incident is only ever hours away. Court cases of women fighting for their rights. More incidents of women having to resort to legal situations for access, equality, prejudice and discrimination. This won't go away.

Edited to add: actually, the way to make this go away would be to say that in addition to mixed sex 'women's' spaces there must be single sex provision and that must be respected, gatekept, and all tax paid services must have a single sex option. Stop the harm to women, the problem would evaporate overnight and it would all settle down and be fine.

Why isn't that the obvious option? Because men would kick off and hate it. And that tells you really all you need to know. It isn't about 'free to be me'. It's about 'free to make sure she bloody well knows her place' .

duc748 · 10/07/2024 22:38

all tax paid services

Exactly. It needs 'the smack of firm government'. But have Labour got the cojones to do that?
