https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/06/13/scores-actresses-turn-down-roles-play-critical-jk-rowling

"The stage production, which is set to debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, has already caused outrage over a working title which labelled the gender-critical Harry Potter author a c----."

"The production is yet to cast any of the female roles, including that of Rowling herself."

"Actors have been found for male leads, who will portray Harry Potter cast members Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe."

If you look up woman in the dictionary you get a picture of IW

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 18/06/2024 09:59

Arf!

SirChenjins · 18/06/2024 11:17

It's his second cervix that makes him more of a woman.

Can't afford Edinburgh in Festival season.

But since this is the World Premiere, we can look forward, I'm sure, to the play going on a tour of British venues.

We could get a charabanc together for one of the dates somewhere central, like Birmingham.

Charabanc is a splendid word that deserves to be used more often and I’m up for the ladies’ outing. I suggest we hold off on paying the deposit though, @Chersfrozenface , just in case unforeseen circumstances spoil our plan.

TWETMIRF · 18/06/2024 12:06

We'd have to time it right, things this good sell out quickly

AstonUniRank · 18/06/2024 12:09

Silver cervix, I assume.

SPOONS FROM THE LEFT.

WallaceinAnderland · 18/06/2024 13:44

I see IW has changed IW's mind about paying for that blue tick. Despite regularly hating on Elon Musk and vowing to never give him money. Such a turnaround.

Again.

Is your womanliness linked to the number of cervixes? I'm imagining a cervix arms race between JKR and Windy.

"I've got 796 now, Jo!"

Competitive cervixing - men win every time, it’s the male puberty that gives them the advantage.

Because no one bit to your JKR slur? The irony.

AstonUniRank · 18/06/2024 17:01

I love it when the Very Kind people turn up to insult us. So edifying.

AstonUniversityScrapedMyCorpus · 18/06/2024 19:21

Please, please let India Willoughby play this role 🙏🙏🙏

There's an article interviewing the men responsible in the Telegraph

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/theatre/what-to-see/terf-play-edinburgh-fringe-jk-rowling/

https://archive.ph/5Rxyb breaking the terf wall

I'd be prepared to believe their protestations of being even handed except

If the message of the play is anything, it’s ‘why are we having such a huge fight over less than one per cent of the population?’

They just don't see women at all, do they?

‘I’m not calling JK Rowling a terf’: Inside the play that has Edinburgh running scared

A satire imagining the Harry Potter cast tackling Rowling over her trans views has been shunned by venues. Why? Its writer tells all

RoyalCorgi · 18/06/2024 20:26

They just don't see women at all, do they?

They don't. And it doesn't matter how often you explain it to them, they don't understand it's not about 1% of the population. Once you have self-ID, any man can declare himself a woman, so it becomes about the 50% of the population who are male.

He also does that thing of pretending the abuse and protests are coming from the feminist side, when we know full well that it is the trans activists who routinely try to stop women speaking through violence, threats of violence, intimidation against venues, disruption of meetings and malicious reports to the police.

WallaceinAnderland · 18/06/2024 20:32

But I don’t drill down into the arguments.

Haha, I bet you don't.

Cattenberg · 18/06/2024 23:06

Man who isn’t affected by the erosion of women’s rights, doesn’t get what all the fuss is about. Instead of trying to learn, he decides to mansplain womanhood to women.

Same old, same old.

Hugely weird you checked out other posts...you are a very dedicated and tenacious little 'mumsnetter'

Britinme · 19/06/2024 02:45

Yep slagging off people who use mumsnet on mumsnet is a bit of a self own.
Very inconsistent/double standards.

It amuses me. The Legend of Mumsnet!

I think it's generally agreed we are a soft target. they can jump in with a shiny username and tell everyone off, tell us they're archiving us and reporting us to the police... and we're like "That's nice dear"
Not always easy to tell if they have an issue with mumsnet, or just mummy issues
