How does AI cope with double entendres?
And Cockney rhyming slang, ie Bristol City?
But if it thinks plump girls are rude, is it also fattist and prudish?

It has odd boundaries: no names of real, identifiable people; no violence; no nightdresses; I assume no depictions of sex but I haven't tried that instruction (I bet all 14 year old male AI users have, though 😂).

On the plus side it allows alcohol & understands French.

It's unreliable on rodents. And legs. And numbers of fingers.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 18/07/2024 17:58

This was 'the trouble & strife went up the apples & pears, watercolour'

So I don't think it understands Cockney rhyming slang.

I've just tried polari - nope, even worse. This is linguistic research right here on MN, folks!

Wow, so if AI was a person it would be the immaculately conceived love/indifference child of Toulouse Lautrec and an anonymous rodent averse paralympian nun?

Goodness knows what's happening here.

I'm fine with all of that except the...rodent bunting?

@Boiledbeetle and @ifIwerenotanandroid, have you lined up your ducks? I think that's something MN insists is done in the event of a split.

The first half yes, the second half - well, it loves rodents but seems to suffer some form of rodent-based prosopagnosia. And nuns are apparently very good at drawing legs, so it's not one of those either. Some days it seems to bring its work as a cheesy greetings card designer home with it. And I once asked it for a dragon kimono & got a komodo dragon. Make of that what you will.

I'm trying, but honestly, it's like herding cats.

Wow! That's a beauty!

AlisonDonut · 18/07/2024 20:44

It is amazing. I've moved all my footwear for the night.

lcakethereforeIam · 18/07/2024 20:53

Ooh, a male stag beetle. It's a beauty.

AlisonDonut · 18/07/2024 21:01

My little black and white semi feral was trying to smack it round the head but I've shooed them all away now and it has tucked itself down the back of the shutters.

Last night it was a huuuugggggeeee cricket - the day before another mouse. It's wildlife central round here.

Lucanus cervus. They are in decline. Record your sighting and don't let the cats hurt it!

Oooh, I didn't know you were meant to record them. I saw one a couple of weeks ago - we always a get a few round here.

AlisonDonut · 18/07/2024 23:15

We are in France. We have lizards and newts and red squirrels and cicadas and the other day we had a glow worm. All within 6 ft of the back door.

It is wild here.

So that no one takes offense at me personally for the words The AI chose I put below the instruction I gave it

"Can you draw me six ducks lined up perfectly with a duck sized suitcase to the right of each duck and a piece of paper to the left that says "decent divorce lawyers"

I am not going to lie, I am a bit discombobulated that Justine isn't wearing a Grimbut Gerbil tshirt in that article. That would have been SWEET.

If you can remember the date and the place do enter it. I think that this sort of large-scale citizen science can be really useful for getting widespread data for tiny things like insects.

If you ever find or see something that is really unusual, plant or animal, it's worth identifying it and looking up the biological records for that species. Yours might be the first record for your county. (Counties often have species-specific expert recorders who may help confirm first sightings.) Regardless, the National Biodiversity Network is a good place to start. https://nbn.org.uk/.
This is the map of stag beetles in the UK taken from their atlas - https://species.nbnatlas.org/species/NBNSYS0000011448

(Aston people, you can do this too!)

The National Biodiversity Network (NBN) is a collaborative venture in the United Kingdom, which is committed to making biodiversity information available through the internet via the NBN Atlas - the data search website of the NBN.

Mumsnet began the legal action after negotiations for OpenAI to license the data broke down.

So, MN were looking to do a Reddit-style deal?

And, effectively, Aston was in danger of compromising that type of deal which is why MN cares/d?
