I've got Greatest Hits radio on in the background while I read the Morning Star and this thread, and the radio news headline just now was the Scottish Hate Crime Act debacle and [paraphrasing] how it 'could potentially criminalise people who state biological facts'.

Can we report IW for the sex offender tweet if we don't live in Scotland? Clearly the Scottish police don't have any actual crimes to investigate, so I thought I'd help them out by giving them something to do.

He’s trying to suggest that being abroad is why she won’t be prosecuted. His aim is to undermine the “precedent” of JKR misgendering without prosecution, both to suggest she is not brave and has run away and to make GC women continue to fear. I imagine JKR will post something similar on her return to snuff out that suggestion.

The whole "reasonable person" thing is so ridiculous, especially for an issue that's currently so polarising. It's obvious that there are reasonable people with completely opposing views on the sex/gender issue, but the government has entirely passed the buck so the police have to deal with it.

You might as well have a law saying "If someone complains that someone else has done a bad thing, the police should just consider whether a reasonable person would think it was a bad thing, and if so arrest them". In fact we could just replace all of Scottish law with that one law!
