nauticant · 22/01/2024 14:57

Roz Adams was employed by Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) as a counsellor. She is claiming constructive dismissal for Gener Critical (GC) beliefs. The CEO of ERCC is a well known transwoman known for, among other things, controversial "reframe your trauma" remarks.

There's live tweeting from https://twitter.com/tribunaltweets or if Twitter doesn't show the tweets, look at https://nitter.net/tribunaltweets. There's an informative substack here: https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/adams-vs-edinburgh-rape-crisis-centre

This post explains how to get access to watch the hearing: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/4988632-another-gc-employment-tribunal-roz-adams-vs-edinburgh-rape-crisis-centre-2?page=24&reply=132419912

Nick didn't challenger their language, they had used terf,

...which isn't, in KM's experience, routinely associated with threats of violence. OK then.

nauticant · 23/01/2024 10:34

I'm probably late to this realisation but it's brilliant that the Jo Phoenix decision has arrived into time for it to feed in to the panel's deliberations.

Yes Jo was interviewed on Women's Hour today

Boiledbeetle · 23/01/2024 10:36

Witness currently trying to justify staff comments that were nasty and spiteful about RA.

NC addressing MW appointment and wether there were any protest to MW being employed

nauticant · 23/01/2024 10:37

NC: Was any objection to MW's appointment justified?

KM: I didn't see any that were justified.

Witness thinks objections were raised many of them are transphobic and didn't see any that didn't fall into that category

FetchezLaVache · 23/01/2024 10:38

Is AS on here? Your camera's on

Appalonia · 23/01/2024 10:38

Did she just say the objections were transphobic? Hard to hear her

FetchezLaVache · 23/01/2024 10:39

@Appalonia yes, essentially. They were all transphobic, could therefore be righteously ignored. Or filed under H?

Boiledbeetle · 23/01/2024 10:40

Asking about an email that given she said she hadn't seen any that weren't transphobic can she read a particular email

Appalonia · 23/01/2024 10:40

Asking witness to read ' transphobic ' email

FetchezLaVache · 23/01/2024 10:40

It's going to be really polite and reasonable isn't it...

Boiledbeetle · 23/01/2024 10:40

This is going to be fun

nauticant · 23/01/2024 10:41

NC: Did you see this email (in the Hate folder)?

KM: Yes.

NC does some clever argument and KM decides she's not seen the email because she doesn't know whether she can reasonably say it's transphobic or not.

And long apparently!

Appalonia · 23/01/2024 10:41

I hope we get to hear it

lechiffre55 · 23/01/2024 10:41

Jeeze she doesn't come across as very bright does she?

Boiledbeetle · 23/01/2024 10:42

She's just sat there staring at a piece of paper

Boiledbeetle · 23/01/2024 10:42

She's just sat there staring at a piece of paper

On my tiny screen she's just a blob of green

Boiledbeetle · 23/01/2024 10:43

NC that email is a heart breaking email from a rape victim about the importance of the reality of sex

Appalonia · 23/01/2024 10:43

It's a heartbreaking appeal from a rape victim of the importance of the reality of sex

Silence

AlisonDonut · 23/01/2024 10:43

I peeled 3 pomelos in the time it took to read that email.

nauticant · 23/01/2024 10:44

NC here is aiming to show that reasonable responses to the appointment of MW went into the Hate folder because ERCC were simply prejudiced against any views they don't approve of.

Massive pause by KM there.
