Tunnocks Thread 2

The question asked in Thread 1 has still not been answered satisfactorily, and so the quest continues to discover which side of the fence Tunnocks are on or whether they are in fact sat atop the fence throwing Snowballls and Tea cakes at both sides.

I have no idea where the link below will send you. hopefully to the original thread and at the start, but it could be a completely different thread half way through. I'm too full of sugar to concentrate properly!

I've decided to forgive him because he went out later and bought me a pack of caramel wafers from the Co-op. So that's lunch sorted!!

Random: New to the tea cake phenomena this year and thinking ahead.
Do Tunnocks do a Christmas selection box, or this something to suggest to them?

Definitely we should suggest it, @AppleTreeOwner. And I think I could find them some eager product testers….

Seriously did have to test maltesers once. The instructions were a killer...

Count the deformed ones
Eat some
How many did you put in your mouth in one go?
How many were chewy rather than crunchy?

Our GoLocal shop sells snowballs!! I'm going to ask if they can get caramel logs in so that I can try them. He looks up anything I ask for on the cash and carry website so I'm in with a good chance I think. Go Local sells so much good stuff as it is but the snowballs are new.

Maltesers are best straight from the freezer.

This has got me thinking what would be in my ultimate selection box. The list may take some time to type out.

The comments about tasting have made me think of this

Maltesers with a glass of cold milk - delicious.

I made a cheesecake once that had a base made out of crushed maltesers and butter, with a cream cheese and Nutella topping, decorated with more maltesers. It was a thing of beauty and is single-handedly responsible for an inch on my waistline.

These were my Maltesers cheesecakes. I think I used bourbons or digestives for the base. Then just Maltesers, sugar, cream cheese and cream, topped with ganache and Maltesers. No bake, big waist.

Some of the contestants are making tea cakes on Bake Off.

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius I'm just watching it on catch up! If Tunnocks need some ideas for an Advert Calendar that's a bit 'extra'. But to run alongside a normal Tunnocks Calendar.

Just catching up on last night's bake off now. I've made Italian meringue before but Swiss meringue/marshmallow looks like far too much of a pain in the arse to bother with. The black forest tea cakes looked bloody nice, as did the peanut buttery ones and the malted milk ones.

(Hint, hint Tunnocks!)

I've only got as far as the custard creams.

The white chocolate ones seemed that they'd be far too sweet.

So hard. I hate bake off, but like tea cakes.

I'm torn

This series is much better than the last few ones if that helps.

It's only the first bit that's teacakey. You can stop after that. It's also a bit waggonwheely, so be prepared.

Ooh why didn't you say. The wagonwheels have swayed me. I shall put it on my may get around to watching some day.

Reply from Tunnocks after emailed to suggest a Christmas selection box. Very prompt response but going to have to make my own version of a box….

Many thanks for your interest in our products, and your idea, unfortunately Tea cakes / Snowballs are fragile, and along with other products may squash inside a box, we have to also show our products to buyers, and they decide what to order from our range, we cannot make them take our products, sometimes that is why you see different products in different store's.

Ooh, you've been touched by Tunnocks. I'm surprised to find I'm a little jealous.

I'm still mentally compiling my dream Christmas selection box. Maybe it should be an actual hamper and come with a copy of the books.
