Well done to the hotel staff. ‘trans ‘woman’ given key to the unisex changing room instead of the female changing room ‘trans woman’ not happy.

Spotted this in the Mail article

'This is the first time anyone IRL (in real life) has treated me as if I am not a woman... decent people accept the rule of self identity. If in doubt then find a polite way to ask, don't assume'.

How about: decent people accept that girls and women have a right to the privacy and dignity of single-sex female-only spaces when in a state of undress. What sort of people don’t accept that rule in real life?

Helleofabore · 29/07/2023 08:33

That Coombes self published that crap themselves shows that this is a male individual that revels in their own status of victimhood.

It is abundantly clear now. Before it could have been just a guess, now, now they have absolutely made their motivation within that ideological movement clear.

I love the outrage that he has given up 5 days of his annual leave in order to perve at women and young girls.

Bless.

Surprised he hadn’t got his TQ network at work to campaign for paid leave for volunteering days.

This person seems to be AGP. Judges are very visible to everyone in attendance at swimming events. I expect that they like that performance element.

SinnerBoy · 29/07/2023 08:45

So, in this specific case, he was "only" walking through and "only" using the women's toilets. In the Mercure Hotel he demanded access to the women's changing rooms and had the woman who gave him the unisex key sent for indoctrination.

On this thread, one of the links to his witterings has him bragging about changing in the women's changing rooms and dismissing "Myra's" fears and concerns.

Why is the swimming authority trying to minimise his behaviour? It's serial behaviour, not a minor one off.

Not so very long ago, we'd call men who wanted to and did go and look at young girls something other than trans.

SinnerBoy · 29/07/2023 08:47

In fact, if I recall correctly, he also bragged about officiating and being in the changing rooms, whilst young female competitors were changing.

He disgusts me.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 29/07/2023 08:50

Excellent coverage - and a real turn around. Swimming was captured in the early days with numerous policies insisting that men claiming to be women must be allowed access to women and girls in changing rooms

It's another sign that the torrent of predatory men spying on / perving on women & girls in changing rooms has forced swimming to ignore the trans whingeing and reinstate single sex changing rooms.

A reminder of where this can lead - the wonderful Riley Gaines talking about how young women swimmers in the States were forced to attend compulsory LGBT "training" when they objected to sharing changing rooms with a man (Lia Thomas). This university sponsored "grooming" of these young women aimed at removing their boundaries is where this country was heading until very recently:

From Coombes’ Mastadon.

It’s very easy to avoid such accusations, Anne - just stay out of single sex spaces, services and sports designated for female people.

@NicCageisnotNickCave is this tweet getting much interaction?

A reminder of where this can lead

https://www.dailysignal.com/2023/07/27/lia-thomas-teammate-paula-scanlan-talks-trauma-sharing-locker-room/

Paula Scanlon details where it can lead. A sex assault survivor having to change 18 times a week in front of an adult male. And ‘re-education’ if she or any woman complained or avoided doing so.

This is called progress.

Sexual Assault Survivor Describes Trauma of Sharing Locker Room With Lia Thomas

Paula Scanlan, a sexual assault survivor, testified before a House subcommittee how she was affected sharing a locker room with Lia Thomas.

Helleofabore · 29/07/2023 09:04

Just adding to your post MrsO.

Shall we also remember that Riley was effectively forced to be kept in a locked room for 3 hours while violent protestors kicked the door and screamed at her because she highlighted that allowing Thomas to compete was unfair and that the changing room situation was abusive to women.

Helleofabore · 29/07/2023 09:06

It is also interesting to note that we don’t have the usual posters here supporting Coombes. Why is that?

BonfireLady · 29/07/2023 09:06

gogomoto · 29/07/2023 08:13

I couldn't care less what clothing people choose to wear and I think unisex changing facilities are a good idea in many circumstances (I have an adult dsd who is learning disabled and needs significant assistance yet the pool only has one disabled/family changing room which can be occupied by anyone needing the babychange, sessions are only an hour, if im not there it's pretty awkward for dp, he's missed time waiting for access to find it's a mum feeding in there for instance.

From what I have read on previous threads, I think there is a lot of support from members of this board for third spaces being available in addition to single sex spaces.
Hopefully one day the T in the LGBT will realise that this is the only logical way forward and get behind a campaign for them to be provided. Unfortunately at the moment the loudest voices are like Anne's, shutting down any idea of third spaces because it's "dehumanising". Thankfully we seem to be edging closer to the fact that they have no argument to prop up their assertions. Anne's own tweets seem to be doing a great job of showing the real motivation behind Anne refusing to use them.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 29/07/2023 09:09

decent people accept the rule of self identity.

I don't know if there's a name for this conversational device or whether its just common or garden manipulation, but it's setting the terms for the debate, isn't it? decent people will indulge me, if you won't you're not a decent person and can be ignored (bigot and transphobe that you are). The problem with that is that the definition of decent people isn't Anne's to make or own.

Because Coombes has been visibly and publicly “saying the quiet part out loud”?

It’s not a tweet, it’s on a twitter-ish platform called Mastodon. No interaction but it doesn’t look like Coombes ever has much interaction on that platform?

I’m not a Mastodon user, I just googled it up. Coombes uses the same user name on several platforms.

What Coombes doesn't appear to grasp is that a lot of women would relish the offer of a private changing space at a swimming pool or a hotel spa.

I'm not the only adult human female who hates communal changing rooms, am I?

Entitled male refused access to female changing area (despite wearing skirt)
Theeyeballsinthesky · 29/07/2023 09:22

Just so I’m clear - were all the other male judges using the female changing rooms as a walk through or was that a privilege reserved fir this man because they had a skirt on?

im assuming that unless they’ve completely taken leave of their senses all the other male judges were not allowed to go tramping through the women's changing rooms to get places which means thete was another route Anne could have taken but didn’t. I wonder why?

Mastadon is odd. It’s a bit like Twitter in that you can post any old thing, like opinions on a tv program or pictures of your cat. The way if differs is how it works. Twitter is one big thing. Everyone is on the same platform. Mastadon is different. You have different servers and you will only see the people on your server. So for example you could join via a general U.K. server and you’d only see people from the U.K. This means that the conversations, replied etc are going to be based on being in the U.K. and relevant to U.K. life.
Anna is on an LGBT server so all the people seeing her post will also be on the same server. This means that their views will most likely align with hers. Therefore the replies to her posts are all supportive.

CaramelMac · 29/07/2023 09:27

If you don’t want to be seen as a dirty old man perving at little girls then it’s probably best not to involve yourself in kids sporting competitions and hang around changing rooms while young girls are changing whilst dressed in your fetish outfit.

There was another way to access the pool that does not require any changing room access.

FelineGood76 · 29/07/2023 09:31

The UTTER entitlement to just stroll through a private female area, after having lived for decades as a man, just because you have a bad wig and a skirt on.
How absolutely deluded and self absorbed can you possibly be?
