JOIN SARAH JANE BAKER FOR MP AND MAKE BRITAIN A NICER, SAFER, AND FRIENDLIER PLACE FOR US ALL TO LIVE IN

Our mission is to inspire and promote impactful solutions to some of the most critical issues we face through the power of civic engagement. Join our community of activists and allies as we work towards a better and more just world.

https://sarah-jane-baker.com/

Makes you wonder what impactful solutions might actually be.

If it wasn't so horrendous you would think it was some old Carry On farce.

Alan the narcissist should grow beard back & put his old clothes back on then we can see how long it takes for him to be arrested.
Wonder if Eddie/Susan Izz would be willing to be associated with Alan's campaign......

Pleased to see that Baker has been returned to jail.
Is this a watershed moment a la Bryson di we think?

You would hope. Every time I register a watershed, I'm so dismayed with the reaction of the left.

Cass Report...my hope was Starmer could say it's time to really listen to the experts and put a hold on youth medicalisation. The reality was the left didn't even register this story.

Adam Bryson furore resulting in going to male prison. My hope that Starmer would say anything else was an abomination. The reality was that he sheepishly stated Self ID wasn't a priority.

Sarah Baker sent back to prison. My hope is that Starmer will say that he has zero tolerance for TRA threats against women. The reality is Starmer won't even address this.

So many open goals for Labour to score, so many missed opportunities.

However, I do know the individuals teeing up the ball on the penalty spot. Scottish and Welsh Labour, TRA Labour MPs, half the shadow cabinet fully TWAW.

Even if Starmer and maybe Streeting had a backbone between them to hold a vaguely GC line together, the culture of the left is lost to magical thinking.

Sarah Baker may not actually speak officially for the identarian left. Unofficially, however...

QueenHippolyta · 16/07/2023 11:05

Who believes Wes Streeting will keep his assurances to women post-election if Labour wins?
He was in a secret group years ago to hunt and eject GC Labour women from the party.

Where's that bridge he needs to sell?

Bloody hell, @Froodwithatowel , that is a fantastic post - measured, intelligent and reasonable. I take my hat off to you.

Yes, it sure is.

"I wish I'd said that..." 😀

duc748 · 16/07/2023 11:37

Starmer is beyond hope; his track-record is, I'll say owt as long as I'm trimming to (what he thinks is) the current tide of opinion. If he thinks he can take women's votes for granted, he may be in for a surprise.

I don’t think the heroes of Spiked have got the answers here sorry Rebellious cow
I think that male sexual rights to get sexual access to women and children, and common misogyny and sexism (because there is homophobia in here too) is driving this movement, which while women advance a bit in society has found itself a new and progressive sounding guise via identity politics.

There’s as much stupidity and misogyny in right wing politics as there is on the left, otherwise we would not be where we are now. We’ve had a Tory government in the UK for 14 years so why bang on about the Labour Party. There isn’t actually a mainstream politics that is pro-woman. Political parties reflect society which feels increasingly sexist whether that’s from a seemingly progressive liberal or an unreconstructed conservative or religious angle.

Slothtoes · 16/07/2023 12:17

Sorry 13 years of Tory government.. my bad. It just feels like a bloody long time, apologies

If Labour get in and we end up like Canada or NZ will it bother you?

Slothtoes · 16/07/2023 12:35

I seem to recall you’ve what abouted on this issue before SunnyEgg, anything to deflect from what are clearly apparent Tory failures.
I already said that there isn’t a misogynist political party in my post just above.

And yes it has really bothered me what the Tories in government have actually done with attempting to advance the TRA agenda over the last 13 years, including trying to introduce self ID until realising it’s unpopular for votes.

There’s that, plus the rocketing child poverty and the proliferation of food banks, the economic and social disaster of Brexit … so yes I would take my chances with Labour or even the Lib Dem’s and fight them on any roll back to women’s rights just as I have done and many women on here have done against the Tory government’s incursions on women’s rights.

What a crazy response.

Do you not look forward at all?

I find that mind boggling, if we lose the small gains we’re toast.

I really couldn’t care less when people try to hide behind I can’t talk about what’s incoming as it might look bad. I am truly concerned about what we’re handing to my dd.

If you are happy with a NZ or Canada style situation just say it.

It’s an easy enough direct question. Why be evasive?

I don’t think culture a strong enough term

It’s a societal war or wrangle

As in do we divide society by sex or gender?

It’s fundamental and basic and underpins laws, and culture.

Culture is just one of the things impacted

Yes, these issues are very fundamental, as I suggested - which is why they are so heated, divisive and conflicted. 'War' is an appropriate term, and in the U.S it is almost like a second civil war.

SunnyEgg · 16/07/2023 12:43

The best Labour have seems to be I don’t want to talk about the reality of what will happen

The leaders and posters when asked directly on here

Fuck that. Well good luck after the GE if you don’t want gender ideology

No idea maybe you do. No answer.

Maybe it's time to take a leaf out of JSO book, and take these direct action/slow marches.

Can you imagine the North Circular or M25 stopped by an army of women with billboards saying

SELF ID? NOT ON MY WATCH!

TRANS CONVERSION BAN? IT'S A GAY CONVERSION BAN

99.9% OF WOMEN DON'T HAVE A PENIS? MAKE THAT 100%!

Seriously, I think that's what it may have to take.

If the environmentalists feel their cause is existential and their tactics are justified, women should have the same rights afforded them to create total chaos.

I don’t mind war if people want to use it

But ‘cultural war’ isn’t a good term

Why the Spiked references?

The reason I " bang on about Labour" is because I'm a disenchanted ex Labour party member, and in a city which votes Labour no matter how corrupt; in which Tory hatred is the favourite sport.

Another reason I " bang on about Labour" is because my own Labour MP will not meet with her constituents on this issue of great importance to them, and we've been told " we're wasting our time".

"I bang on about Labour" because they have done nothing to stand up for women's sex based rights, and they have offered no support to Rosie Duffield. They also refused a stand to the Labour Women's Declaration at last years' conference.

"I bang on about Labour"because key party members have referred to WPUK and other groups as 'hate groups' and because at local level the party has been taken over by young Momentum activists with their identity politics; and is rife with bullying and intimidation. Most Labour party people in my city also hate Kier Starmer and expect nothing from him.

"I bang on about Labour " becaue unlike Kemi Badnoch, Miriam Cates, and a good number of other Tory MPs, no such people have stepped forward from the Labour Party; in fact the Labour party contains people like Russel Lloyd Moyle; Michael Cashman; Nadia Whittome; Kim Johnson..........

That's just semantic niggling as far as I'm concerend which It depends on how you define culture.

I refer you the book I linked to earlier. by Frank Furedi " Borders: how Humanity Needs to Re-learn the art of Drawing boundaries".

It deals with the great cultural and attitudinal shifts as they relate to concepts of openness and boundarylessness - and how this is playing out in psychological, cultural, social and political levels.

I disagree for reasons in pp

Semantics are key anyway. This is a battle over language as much as anything else.

‘Culture war’ plays to one side only and doesn’t benefit women

Is anyone able to confirm this…..

Sarah Jane Baker is being held at Bronzefield womens prison. They're keeping this information away from the public so that we do not campaign for him to be moved. #sexmatters #sarahjanebaker
