I bet he's regretting replying so hastily now, whether he gets disciplined or not. He was quick to stick it to the 'terf' - should have at least realised this case would be high profile.

I think it likely didn't even occur to him that there was anything wrong with it. Violence against women is so ingrained, its invisible, especially for the police. It was just terfs after all.
Even now, he's probably just regretting that he got involved in something that makes the trans movement look bad.

he wants someone to set boundaries because he can't set them for himself. unfortunately he's a terrifyingly violent man so the naughty step is not really an option

100% this.

On one level, I suspect he may be quite glad to go back inside where at least there are clear rules to follow and he'll be expected to behave.

Outside, when even the police won't stop him from aggressive, increasingly chaotic and disordered behaviour, must be very frightening. I hope there is some support & rehabilitation inside for him.

At the end of the day this guy spent his entire adult life having every minute of his day dictated to him. When to get up, when to eaf, when to go out, when to go to bed.

I'm assuming he finds it quite difficult to have to be responsible for his own decisions

It's weird but I actually feel a bit sorry for him. He's a deluded and dangerous individual, he deserves to be punished for his crimes but he sorely needs help. I hope he gets it, though fuck knows if it'll do any good. All the people clapping and cheering are the last thing he needs. If they truly gave a shit they'd be ashamed of themselves.

I was pondering this the other day. SJB has said he has a personality disorder which he says makes him prone to impetuous behaviour. I've read that personality disorders are considered to be very resistant to treatment.

Obviously personality disorder does not = criminality but if you have a personality disorder and are also prone to criminal behaviour that probably makes you both dangerous and vulnerable at the same time. The people around him cheering him on are exploiting his vulnerability by encouraging him to harass and bully women. If he had any real friends they would be begging him to live a quiet life under the radar.

This is all tucked away in the bring your whole self to work/radical acceptance stuff though.

The attempt to make unacceptable behaviour something a person does not need to control or take responsibility for, or be buggered to care about the impact of it on others, because it's 'him being him' and 'living his best life' and yada yada yada. Enough of a conscience and self awareness to know it's unacceptable and wrong, ego salved by a lot of blether and reasons why its ok and anyone who minds is Karen/pearl clutching/moral panic/right wing/dead soon/ definitely not in any way a person with a point.
