This creates a worrying precedent for transgender, intersex, non-binary, gender non-conforming and wider LGBTIQA+ communities, one in which we are fearful to speak out in anger against the violence we face nearly every day without fear of incarceration.

They were always going to try and spin this as "This is proof of the literal genocide we've warned about". What it really is is yet another demonstration of the idea that Special Rules Apply To The Special Glitter People. Adherence with laws like everyone else? Transphobia!

This rhetoric is to force-team the "be kind" handmaidens with violent male criminals. It's shocking that they seem to fall for it. You'd have to have the brain of a gnat to fail to realise that, unless you have an existing conviction and an existing sentence, you can't be on parole and can't be recalled to prison.
