Sarah Jane Baker, on the Trans Pride stage, saying

“If you see a TERF, punch them in the fucking face!”

to a cheering crowd :)

NB to MNHQ the video shows this being said. It is not just an allegation being shared.

The immediate and urgent need is to get the Tories out. The UK cannot withstand another Tory government, as it is they’ve damaged us almost irrevocably, and why would anyone vote for the party that made the mess to fix the mess?

Haven't Labour committed to the same economic policies as the Tories??

If there are no significant economic policy differences, what would be the point of voting for a party that wants to enable men's right to identify into women's spaces, services and sports? And describes women and gay people who organise to oppose this as "hate groups".

Pogrom. That was the word I was trying to think of. A mob attack, condoned or approved of by authorities, against the persons and property of a religious, cultural or national group.

It always has shades of the Cultural Revolution for me. All young people advocating for violence against the Four Olds: Old Ideas, Old Culture, Old Customs, and Old Habits

Just it's 'old' therefore 'bad'. And young people can smash everything. And attack people for their thoughts.

They're never up for freedom of speech when a woman wants to state fact, but allll for it when it's about inciting woman-beating.

It probably would have been nothing much past an interview had this not been someone on parole. For serious violent crime. To do what he did was not bright, to put it mildly, and this should be no surprise to him.

DerekFaker · 13/07/2023 22:20

"Political arrest" 🙄

PurpleGreenandWhiteAreTheNewPrimaryColours · 13/07/2023 22:21

The martyrdom has begun already with calls for protest marches etc.

DerekFaker · 13/07/2023 22:24

Yep, people are starting to tweet "Free Sarah Jane Baker".

I think this may backfire, however.

Their history, the fact that they have been harrassing women they deem to be "terfs"...it doesn't paint a pretty picture.

I think this is hilarious.
If they want to waste their lives on a violent ex con instead of doing something to make the world a better place that’s up to them.

Fenlandia · 13/07/2023 22:37

According to the Daily Telegraph link on its homepage tonight

"Woman arrested after activist told crowd at London Trans Pride to ‘punch Terfs in the face’ "

😶

Actual article headline calls them just an activist

Fantastic. Bring it! Make some noise, everyone! Keep the story in the news!

Ooh, a protest.

'EMERGENCY PROTEST TOMORROW WESTMINSTER MAGISTRATES COURT FROM 10 AM
Our beautiful friend and Trans Rights Activist Sarah Jane Baker was arrested at her home yesterday 12/7/23 by the MET Police and has been recalled back to prison. She faces trial tomorrow 14/7/23 at Westminster Magistrates Court, 181 Marylebone Rd, London NW1 5BR
Please gather outside from 10AM outside the court to show solidarity with Sarah and love in the face of this injustice
No matter the outcome of tomorrow's court she will be recalled to prison - almost certainly a male one. An attack on Sarah's freedom is an attack on the wider queer community. We stand with Sarah in her fight for freedom. Let's show her just how much she really means to so many of us.
FREE SARAH JANE BAKER'

If they try to protest the court in the same way they protest KJK .. I can see water cannons and Batons being gently inserted into rectums..

I suspect by tomorrow there will be petitions and accusations of transphobia against the police, and endless columns written about a "vulnerable" person being mistreated.

All dressed up to show that Terfs are "literal" violence.

And I am not saying this as a joke.

Please note!!

This is what I posted yesterday after news of the arrest.

Must be psychic or something.

Or now only too aware of how the matyrdom of trans as a public performance will never end.

This is fantastic sunlight. I so dearly hope my oldest friend who is a gay man will soon see the light.

duc748 · 14/07/2023 00:01

Sounds all good. Fill your boots; protest as much and as noisily as you like! 😀

BaronMunchausen · 14/07/2023 03:38

The demonstration could go all Spartacus and fight for the right to call for violence against noncompliant women. They want to normalise their slogans.

What a shame this couldn’t have been done last weekend by the police and probation. Now it’s “political”, and Baker is predictably a martyr for the cause.

SinnerBoy · 14/07/2023 05:20

berryfull · Yesterday 20:29

Twitter reporting that they’ve been recalled to prison.

Well, it's about time.

It puts me in mind of something which happened when I was 20 (1990). A bloke who lived near us was on a life licence and he was recalled to prison, because he'd been seen in a pub.

It was in the local paper, it wasn't against his parole conditions, it's just that he was seen by a cop, who didn't like it. He wasn't drunk. I seem to remember that it could be done if the Police saw or had a report they didn't like.

Felix125 · 14/07/2023 06:11

Its down to the prison governor as to who gets recalled, and it has to breach a licence condition. Its not just a case of "the cop didn't like him"

Its usually a case that a report is submitted to his probation officer, who then informs the prison. A recall is then authorised and sent back out to the authorities and then onto the police. This takes time.

No. The immediate and urgent need is to secure women's rights. Labour have lied to, threatened and insulted us - from its leader to its MPs to its activists.

Plus Labour aren't going to do anything differently from the Tories as they've told us so many times. Worse in fact for people on benefits and with disabilities. The UK won't be any better with them either.

I agree with sea horses. We, as general society, can do things to support the poor through food banks, charities etc but can not change legislation. As a disabled parent of disabled child, we need women's rights for our dignity and safety.
