Let's say this character, or an acolyte, indeed did punch a woman in the face. Maybe seriously injured or killed one.

Can you imagine the apology from the Met? The weasel words, the "never again" platitudes.

Can someone who knows more about this advise us, please? Is this correct:

'Belief' is one of the 5 strands of hate crimes. The protected characteristic of 'belief' includes being gender critical, as confirmed by the Forstater judgement. Therefore someone who is gender critical (= the slur term 'TERF') has a protected characteristic & can be the target of a hate crime.

One could ask why these strands don't match all the protected characteristics.

I think this whole episode shows is that the dehumanisation of women who hold GC views has been overwhelmingly successful. The police (along with multiple other organisations and institutions) seem completely unable of viewing GC women as worthy of protection from violence or discrimination. They don't see the harassment and vilification of women who hold GC beliefs as being as bad as if that behaviour was aimed at any other protected characteristic. They basically think we deserve the harassment because our thoughts are wrong. If they would just switch TERF for any other PC it might dawn on them how vile they are being. Or perhaps they are so brainwashed that it still wouldn't compute.

You know what I think some people/institutions are in so deep that it truly would not compute!

Violent rhetoric (and occasional violence) seems to be the norm for TRAs.

They try to claim gender critical feminists are the same, but struggle to find examples. The best they can find is some American conservative woman calling for men to 'eradicate the deviants'. For every one like her, there's probably a hundred TRAs waving baseball bats or guns, or offering to punch women.
