@Allthegoodnamesarechosen not even a good advertisement for the swimsuit. That guy looks seriously uncomfortable, it's a little too snug😅

What did the British Library do?

PurpleBugz · 08/06/2023 19:50

ChickenSoupAndLokshen · 08/06/2023 07:54

Second hand Lego on Facebook and eBay?

Also wilkos have their own version of Lego that's compatible with actual lego.

Moonandstarz · 08/06/2023 19:56

@PurpleBugz i do think Lego is fine, the link Pink News posted didn't merit any boycott in my opinion. It is the one toy I will happily spend money on for the dc. They love it & I'm happy the have continued to stock Harry Potter lego, the sets are great, very realistic.

My problem with Lego is they promote the language of LGBTQIA ++

And I'm not ok with being told language that denies my existence is for the best

Target & bud lite are being hit very badly in the USA.. I think Target has lost 10 billion in 10 days..

That's great news.

Florissant · 08/06/2023 20:18

Alpro? Darn. I like their chocolate milk.

BabyStopCryin · 08/06/2023 20:29

What did Alpro do?

MerlinsLostMarbles · 08/06/2023 20:49

Costa coffee as well, I visited recently and saw pride flags.

Florissant · 08/06/2023 20:51

Many - if not most - of those brands are in the US. The only company on that list I use is McDonald's and I eat there maybe once every couple of years.

Moonandstarz · 08/06/2023 21:13

Cadburys cream eggs... Go yoke or go woke.. Padon the pun.. What did they do?!

ChristinaXYZ · 08/06/2023 21:17

Nationwide Building Society

and Shay and Blue - bit niche - but they are donating to Mermaids from every sale (they clearly don't have a clue).

Look at the ratio on this!

SorryAuntLydia · 08/06/2023 21:44

I think MerlinsLostMarbles has misunderstood the lists and thinks we want to name and boycott any company that displays an (old skool) gay pride flag. Not the case at all. 😃

We’re looking to collate a list of brands that use their corporate marketing muscle to promote gender ideology - especially those that target children. Including those that use woman face (aka drag), those that fail to protect women’s rights on their premises, and those that raise money for charities that encourage children to embrace gender woo.

Paperlate · 08/06/2023 22:02

I hope you can all still shop at Waitrose.

Moomoola · 08/06/2023 23:33

Moonandstarz · 08/06/2023 10:48

@Moomoola I completely believe you, it really is breaking up families.. There seems to be a divide & conquer mentality. Clever, innocent branding designed to reel very young children in.. After all we do have an inherent need as humans to belong to a community or "tribe"... It's fucking scary.
@Moomoola mumsnet is a fantastic resource & hopefully your daughter will come to her senses soon. X

Thanks moonandstarz it is an amazing resource. I’d be in bits if it wasn’t for wise mumnsnetters support and wisdom. It’s not he sort of thing you can discuss in RL- amazingly it can even divide friendships in adults.

dcbc1234 · 08/06/2023 23:54

I refuse to boycott M&S or Lego lol.
Have already ditched pretty much all charities.
No sign of Asda rainbowing their logo yet this year so will give them more business for 'reading the room'. Fingers crossed it will not happen later in the summer.

Porkandbeans1 · 08/06/2023 09:32

The target share price is far more complex than this. The current slump isn't solely related to this. Their profit margins are down and they have quite a lot of debt. Many in the US are tightening their belts in anticipation of student loan repayments restarting, they have had a 3 year pause due to covid. And most shares are institutionally owned, so in pension funds, mutual funds, investment companies etc.

Exactly @Porkandbeans1

But this is not what they will want to be dealing with right now though!

4plusthehound · 09/06/2023 00:38

DeflatedAgain · 08/06/2023 16:42

featuring drag as “inclusive” when many find it offensive and a parody of women.

I'm pretty new to these threads and find it all so eye opening. I have never even thought of this before and it resonates deeply with me the more I think about it.

Thanks all for the constant conversation on this board, I am learning so much.

Actually it is a pain in the proverbial because you do get your eyes opened but you cannot close them again.

I do so much double taking now!

4plusthehound · 09/06/2023 00:39

Moonandstarz · 08/06/2023 17:38

@DeflatedAgain me too. In general though I find mumsnet great especially regarding education & child rearing. I have learned so much. My children are so young still & I'm shocked at all the indoctrination & hidden messages. Thank God for mumsnet.

Be really careful though - I came 14 years ago for the child rearing and got radicalized!
😂

And here I still am.

IamRoyFuckingKent · 09/06/2023 01:13

Thanks - that’s my last £400 shop with them then
